Sun Look to Build Momentum vs. Depleted Fever
The Connecticut Sun may be enduring a losing season, but they showed plenty of fight in a gritty win on Wednesday night. Now they’ll aim to capture their first back-to-back victories of 2025 when they host the Indiana Fever on Sunday in Uncasville.
Connecticut (6-26) snapped a five-game losing streak with a 71-62 win over the Chicago Sky, a game marred by a second-quarter fight that led to three ejections. Despite losing Bria Hartley after the skirmish, the Sun built a 21-point lead and leaned on defense to seal the win.
Rookie Leila Lacan scored 17 points, while the Sun forced 19 turnovers to hold off a late Sky rally.
“We’ve lost a few games down the stretch like that,” rookie guard Saniya Rivers said. “Playing 40 minutes together is (going to) be very important for us in the future. We just really locked in.”

Fever Battling Through Injuries
Indiana (18-16) comes into Sunday’s matchup shorthanded after an 88-84 home loss to the Washington Mystics on Friday. The Fever allowed the Mystics to shoot 52.7 percent from the field and were outscored 22-11 at the free-throw line.
Star rookie Caitlin Clark (groin) remains sidelined and will miss her 13th straight game. The Fever are also without guards Aari McDonald (foot) and Sydney Colson (ACL), forcing head coach Christie Sides to rely heavily on her frontcourt.
Still, Indiana holds the seventh seed in the WNBA standings, thanks to the consistent play of Kelsey Mitchell (19.9 ppg) and Aliyah Boston (15.2 ppg).
“We’re still a tight-knit group,” guard Sophie Cunningham said. “The highs and lows, you have to stay steady. Every team faces it.”
