Minnesota Can Win If…
They refocus defensively and return to their earlier form. Minnesota has been struggling defensively, giving up 11 threes in the second half of Thursday’s loss to Seattle and a season-worst 16 overall.
“Play some defense, man,” coach Cheryl Reeve said after the loss.
Napheesa Collier has been a bright spot since returning from injury, but the Lynx need more consistency from their offense and defense to close out the regular season on a high note. A strong defensive effort and better shooting, especially from Collier, will be key for them to cover.
Connecticut Can Win If…
They continue their improved play and get another big performance from rookie Leila Lacan. After a tough stretch in the middle of the season, the Sun have won 5 of their last 7, with Lacan leading the charge.
“It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish,” said veteran Tina Charles, praising the team’s recent turnaround.
The Sun’s offense has been clicking, and if they can continue to score efficiently while containing Collier and the Lynx, they have a shot at the upset.
