The Lions beat the Bears twice in 2025 and lost all four games against the Packers and Vikings. Our Detroit Lions predictions start from that division split and from a season that turned in November, with the Lions odds for each game alongside.

Two halves

Detroit finished the 2025 regular season 9-8, with eight covers in the 16 games that had a line. The season split in two. Through October the Lions were 5-2 and covered five of seven. November and December went 3-6, with two covers in the eight lined games.

They scored freely. Only three NFL teams averaged more points, and one matched them. They also gave plenty back: 21 teams allowed fewer.

Laying points, getting points

As favorites the Lions went 7-3 and covered six of ten; only eight teams covered more often in that role, one the same. As underdogs it reversed: 2-4, two covers in six. That rate was tied with two other teams for the lowest in the league.

At home they covered four of seven. On the road, four of nine.

A unit on Detroit, all season

Sixteen games carried a moneyline. One unit on the Lions in each finished 1.68 units down. September made 1.52. November and December lost 4.14 between them.

The two longest prices both landed: 38-30 in Baltimore at +200, and 19-16 at the Bears at +142 on the last weekend. The shortest-price loss was 27-24 at home to the Vikings at -600.

The NFC North

Against the Chicago Bears: 52-21 and 19-16, both covered, 1.78 units. Against the Green Bay Packers: a 27-13 loss in Green Bay and a 31-24 loss at home on November 27, a game with no line. Against the Minnesota Vikings: two losses as the favorite, neither covered. That is 2-4 in the division.

The total

Lions games went over ten times in 17. Seven teams went over at a higher rate and five at the same one, so the over leaned their way without leading the league.
