Baseball is a sport where any team can win because of the season length. However, favorites usually prevail, and these teams have a great chance of winning on Friday. Here are the favorites that you should bet Friday in Major League Baseball.
Toronto Blue Jays at Tampa Bay Rays Picks
Best Bet: Rays ML (-151)
The Tampa Bay Rays are favored over the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday. You should bet on the Rays for a couple of reasons.
The first reason is that Tampa Bay’s bats have come alive in the past two games. The team has won four of its past five games. The Rays did lose to the Royals on Wednesday, but they scored eight runs.
In their past two games, they have scored 22 runs. The Rays will have to face Steven Matz on Friday, who has been great in 2021. However, I think their bats will prevail because of Joey Wendle and Austin Meadows.
Tyler Glasnow will pitch for Tampa Bay, and he has been unhittable in 2021. Glasnow is 2-0 with a 0.73 ERA. He has struck out 36 batters in 24 2/3 innings.
This will be the best roster that Glasnow has faced, but his elite ability should help control Toronto’s young lineup.
Washington Nationals at New York Mets Picks
Best Bet: Mets ML -282
The Washington Nationals have been better than the New York Mets in the past five games. Do not let this fool you in Friday’s matchup. You should bet New York on Friday.
Jacob deGrom, the best pitcher in baseball, will throw for the Mets. deGrom is very tough to beat, and the Nationals are not hitting the ball as a team.
Washington has a lot of players who swing and miss. deGrom is fantastic at inducing strikeouts.
deGrom has a 0.45 ERA, and he has collected 35 strikeouts in 20 innings. It’s no surprise that the Mets are a heavy favorite on Friday.
Los Angeles Angels at Houston Astros Picks
Best Bet: Astros ML -139
The Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Angels have been on downhill slides. Friday will be the second game of the series between Houston and Los Angeles.
Entering this series, the Astros are 1-4 and the Angels are 2-3 in their past five games. I like Houston for two reasons.
Houston was losing because of injuries. They lost multiple star players because of COVID-19 contact tracing. This list included Alex Bregman, Jose Altuve, Yuli Gurriel, and many other stars.
Altuve will not play on Friday, but the majority of the offense is back in the lineup. They should start hitting, and Friday is the perfect day.
The Astros will face Andrew Heaney, who has struggled all season. He has thrown 14 1/3 innings over three starts with a 5.65 ERA.
Another reason to wager the Astros is because of their starting pitcher, Zack Greinke. Greinke is one of the most competent pitchers in the game.
He knows how to attack veteran hitters, and this will show on Friday. Greinke has made four starts in 2021, going 2-1 with a 2.81 ERA. In one start against the Angels, he pitched seven innings and gave up two runs.
