We have a whopping 15 NHL games to enjoy – and bet on – this Saturday, March 11th. As a result, there is no shortage of exciting NHL players props to take advantage of. If you’re looking for some betting guidance, feel free to follow my top five picks for today’s games.
Jack Hughes – Over 4.5 Shots on Goal (+120)
Devils vs. Canadiens Predictions
Only three players have racked up more shots on goal than Jack Hughes this season. The New Jersey Devils superstar has bagged 271 points across 60 appearances, meaning he averages 4.52 shots on goal per game in 2022-23.
After recording six SOG against the Toronto Maple Leafs earlier this week, Hughes notched five against the Washington Capitals last time out. With that in mind, I’m confident that he will register over 4.5 shots on goal against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday.
Nikita Kucherov – Over 1.5 Points (-110)
Blackhawks vs. Lightning Predictions
Nikita Kucherov finds himself third on the points leaderboard, behind the Edmonton Oilers duo of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Kucherov averages 1.45 points per game this season, having chalked up 94 points in 65 outings for the Tampa Bay Lightning.
On Saturday, the Lightning host the Chicago Blackhawks, who sit rock bottom of the Central Division following a run of six losses in seven games. Granted, Tampa Bay has also struggled for consistency of late, but Kucherov shouldn’t struggle to bag over 1.5 points against lowly Chicago.
Brent Burns – Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-140)
Golden Knights vs. Hurricanes Predictions
The Carolina Hurricanes sit atop the Metropolitan Division, while the Vegas Golden Knights occupy first place in the Pacific Division. Needless to say, Saturday’s meeting between Carolina and Vegas at PNC Arena is destined to be a thrilling encounter.
With home-ice advantage on their side, the Hurricanes will be confident of overcoming the Golden Knights, who have lost four of their past nine games. Brent Burns has notched nine shots on goal across his previous two outings, so I’m backing him to record over 2.5 SOG here.
Brock Nelson – Over 0.5 Points (-185)
Capitals vs. Islanders Predictions
Brock Nelson chalked up two points when the New York Islanders defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins last time out, bagging a goal and an assist in the 4-3 win. When you look at the bigger picture, Nelson has notched 11 points across his past 10 appearances.
Thanks largely to Nelson’s efforts, the Islanders have won each of their last three games, and seven of their previous 10. With the inconsistent Washington Capitals up next for the in-form Islanders, I expect Nelson to add to his points tally on Saturday.
Kevin Fiala – Over 0.5 Assists (-110)
Predators vs. Kings Predictions
Not only has Kevin Fiala grabbed an assist in each of his last three games, but he has also racked up six assists across his previous eight outings. For that reason, I’m confident that he will register another assist this weekend.
Sitting second in the Pacific Division on a five-game winning streak, the Los Angeles Kings will be hopeful of dispatching the Nashville Predators, who find themselves fifth in the Central Division following back- to-back losses. Accordingly, I’m backing Fiala to record over 0.5 assists.
