Tour de France Betting Sites

This is the first time the Tour de France has had a stage in Bilbao. This is the 110th Tour de France and the bookies expect the event to be won by Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard.

2023 Tour de France Favorites

Pogacar is favored to win the 2023 Tour de France at slightly above even money (+115). Pogacar won the Tour de France in 2020 and 2021. He’ll want to win after finishing in second place last year.

Vingegaard won the Tour de France last year with a final time of 79h 33’ 20”.

Vingegaard also won the mountains classification last year. The 2023 Tour de France will feature a total of 30 categorized climbs, which is a new record, so Vingegaard will like his chances to repeat.

2023 Tour de France Schedule and Stages

The 2023 Tour de France will run from July 1st to July 23rd 2023.

The 176 riders (22 teams) will battle it out across 21 stages and a total distance of 3404 km. This grueling test of endurance will test every rider. Let’s break down the 2023 Tour de France stages next.

There are eight flat stages, eight mountain stages (four summit finishes), four hilly stages, one individual time trial and two rest days. There will be no team trial or dirt road stage for this year’s event.

Stage 16 will feature the lone individual time trial at a distance of 22 km.

2023 Tour de France Contenders

Enric Mas (+1400) is the top contender after the two favorites. Mas has a best finish of 5th place in the Tour de France, but he did finish runner-up in the 2022 Vuelta a España.

Jai Hindley (+1600) is next up in the futures market. Hindley will be making his Tour de France debut and he’ll likely need some experience in the event before he’ll contend for the yellow jersey.

Egan Bernal (+1800) is expected to race in the Tour de France after overcoming life-threatening injuries during a cycling accident while training in Colombia. Bernal won the 2019 Tour de France and will be eager to win again, but I wouldn’t bet on him to defeat the other top riders.

Some riders that were expected to be 2023 Tour de France contenders have opted to not race in this event. Primoz Roglic and Remco Evenepoel will race in the 2023 Giro d’Italia instead.

2023 Tour de France Betting Lines

There’s plenty of reason to expect the two favorites to battle it out without too many surprises, especially with several of the riders that were expected to contend, opting to not race.

Vingegaard is the defending champion and excels on mountain stages, which will feature predominantly on this year’s route. However, Pogacar is going to do everything in his power to win his third Tour de France and I’m backing the favorite to win. You never know what’ll happen, though.
