The NHL action continues this Tuesday, January 17th, with eight intriguing match-ups on the schedule. Accordingly, I have explored the odds to track down the best NHL player props for today’s games.
My NHL picks involve four different markets – goals, assists, points and shots on goal – giving you a wide range of options to choose from. Feel free to make use of all my recommended bets or select the wagers that suit you.
Josh Morrissey – Over 0.5 Assists (-170)
Jets vs. Canadiens Predictions
Only four players have racked up more assists than Josh Morrissey this season. The Winnipeg Jets superstar has registered 40 assists across 44 appearances, meaning he averages 0.91 assists per game in 2022-23.
After notching three assists in a single game against the Tampa Bay Lightning earlier this month, Morrissey added another to his tally when the Jets beat the Arizona Coyotes last time out. I’m backing him to enhance his record against the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday.
Travis Konecny – Over 0.5 Goals (+120)
Next up, the Philadelphia Flyers host the Anaheim Ducks, who find themselves rock bottom of the Pacific Division following four straight defeats. When you look at the bigger picture, the Ducks have lost nine of their last 12 games.
Having netted 24 goals in 38 outings this season, Philadelphia’s Travis Konecny will fancy his chances of heaping more misery on lowly Anaheim. Konecny bagged three goals against the Washington Capitals last week, so he shouldn’t struggle find the net against the Ducks.
Dylan Larkin – Over 0.5 Assists (+120)
Red Wings vs. Coyotes Predictions
Few would argue that Dylan Larkin has not been the Detroit Red Wings’ standout player this season. Indeed, Larkin has recorded the most points and most shots on goal for Detroit – cementing his status as one of the league’s top performers.
On Tuesday, the Red Wings face the Arizona Coyotes, who are currently enduring a woeful nine-game losing streak. Having chalked up five assists across the previous four games, Larkin looks destined to enjoy even more success at Mullett Arena.
Roman Josi – Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (-150)
Blue Jackets vs. Predators Predictions
The Nashville Predators will be confident of picking up their sixth victory in nine outings when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets, who find themselves rock bottom of the Metropolitan Division after losing four of their past five games.
Sitting fifth on the SOG leaderboard, Nashville’s Roman Josi has racked up 187 shots on goal this season – giving him an average of 4.35 SOG per game in 2022-23. With that in mind, he should notch at least four shots on goal against struggling Columbus.
Mitch Marner – Over 1.5 Points (+115)
Panthers vs. Maple Leafs Predictions
Having registered 16 goals and 36 assists, Mitch Marner is the leading point-getter for the Toronto Maple Leafs this season. The 25-year-old has chalked up 52 points in 44 appearances, meaning he averages 1.18 points per game in 2022-23.
Earlier this month, Marner notched two points against Detroit before bagging three against Philly. After registering another two-point haul against the Boston Bruins last time out, Marner could run riot against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday.
