The NASCAR Cup Series moves on from Texas where Kyle Larson dominated the day and punched his ticket to the Championship race. Next up is Kansas Speedway for the running of the Hollywood Casino 400 on Sunday. And, as you can imagine – Kyle Larson comes in as the lone favorite!
Similar to last week, Kyle Larson comes in all by himself at +150 with Denny Hamlin at +600 after last week’s race at Texas. Larson dominated that race by leading 256 of 334 laps.
Kansas may be a track where Larson can pull off that kind of power racing again as it has a history of long green flag runs like Texas. The Spring race at Kansas was won by Kyle Busch but it was Larson who led 132 of 267 laps. Busch was out front for 20 laps while Brad Keselowski posted 72 laps as the leader.
During that race, there were 7 cautions for 36 laps with 22 cars on the lead lap and only two drivers taken out by a wreck. Those were Ryan Preece and Ricky Stenhouse Jr and they still finished 32nd and 34th with 259 laps run. This means Kansas will probably once again be a strategy race with tires and fuel coming into play.
Again, similar to last week at Texas, this leads to a race where oddsmakers are eyeing consistent drivers that are in the Cup Series Playoffs. Here are the favorites to win the Hollywood Casino 400 outright according to Intertops.
Kyle Larson +175
Denny Hamlin +600
Kyle Busch +700
Chase Elliott +750
Of the four drivers listed above, Kyle Larson is the only one that has not won a NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway.

2021 Hollywood Casino 400 Predictions
Kyle Larson +175
Kyle Larson is on a roll in 2021 and he’s locked into the NASCAR Cup Series Championship race after his win last week at Texas. That means there are two more wins available in this final round or three races. Larson could easily win here in dominating fashion if his teams can hit the setup at Kansas as well as they did at Texas Motor Speedway. In the spring race earlier this season, Larson led 135 laps before being shuffled to the back towards the end of the race.
Kyle Busch +700
Kyle Busch won at Kansas earlier in the season by taking the lead at the end and staying out front for 20 laps. He’s also run well at Kansas in the Cup Series. Over his last ten Kansas starts, he has the one win, 6 top-five, and 8 top-ten finishes.
Kevin Harvick +1400
This may be Kevin Harvick’s best chance to win before the end of the season. He’s not fighting for the Championship as he was eliminated following the last round. According to NASCAR stats, Harvick’s last ten Kansas starts puts him at the top of the stats list. He matches Kyle Busch but has two Kansas checkered flags over the same ten races.
Others to Consider: Denny Hamlin (+600) has two recent wins at Kansas but he’s also had plenty of bad finishes at this track. Ryan Blaney (+1000) seems to be getting worse at Kansas every time he visits. He has early success there with several top-five runs and a few in the top ten. Since then he’s finished 20 th or worse in four of his last five Kansas races.
