What better way to start the week than by wagering on some NBA player props? With nine games to get our teeth into this Monday, January 16th, there are plenty of enticing bets on offer.
Can Jayson Tatum fire the Boston Celtics to a seventh straight win? Will Jalen Brunson maintain his outstanding form against the Toronto Raptors? Keep reading to discover my top NBA player props picks for Monday.
Jayson Tatum – Over 32.5 Points (-125)
It’s top against bottom in the Eastern Conference on Monday, as the high-flying Boston Celtics (32-12) visit Spectrum Center to face the lowly Charlotte Hornets (11-33). The Celtics are enjoying a six-game winning streak, while the Hornets have lost each of their last four encounters.
Only four players have a better points-per-game average than Boston’s Jayson Tatum this season. Averaging 30.6 points per game in 2022-23, Tatum looks destined to run riot against struggling Charlotte.
Jalen Brunson – Over 25.5 Points (-110)
Since returning from injury earlier this month, Jalen Brunson has racked up 227 points in seven outings – averaging 32.4 points per game in that time. The New York Knicks guard even managed a mammoth 44-point haul against the Milwaukee Bucks last week.
Not only have the Knicks won each of their last three games, but they have also won seven of their previous eight. With the inconsistent Toronto Raptors up next, I’m backing Brunson to extend his hot streak on Monday.
CJ McCollum – Over 5.5 Assists (-120)
The New Orleans Pelicans (26-17) find themselves third in the Western Conference, while the Cleveland Cavaliers (27-17) sit fifth in the East. Judging by their records, Monday’s meeting in Ohio is destined to be a close-fought battle.
Although the NBA oddsmakers expected the Cavs to beat the Pelicans, I can see New Orleans’ CJ McCollum producing another eye-catching display. After notching nine assists against the Detroit Pistons last time out, McCollum shouldn’t struggle to record over 5.5 assists against Cleveland.
Bam Adebayo – Over 10.5 Rebounds (-125)
Only three forwards have a better rebounds-per-game average than Bam Adebayo this season. The 25- year-old averages 10.1 rebounds per game in 2022-23, highlighting his importance to the Miami Heat.
Adebayo has chalked up 11+ rebounds in five of his previous six appearances and totaled 25 rebounds across two games against the Bucks last week. With that in mind, I’m backing him to notch over 10.5 rebounds against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.
Jrue Holiday – Over 7.5 Assists (-115)
Milwaukee may have suffered back-to-back defeats to Miami last week, but Jrue Holiday did not disappoint. After chalking up 11 assists in the first game, the experienced guard bagged 10 assists last time out.
On Monday, the Bucks hosts the Indiana Pacers, who sit five places below Milwaukee in the Eastern Conference. Since the Pacers have lost each of their last three games, I can see Holiday providing plenty more assists on home soil.
