The 2022 Masters is in the books as Scottie Scheffler took home the famed green jacket while winning his 4th tournament of the year. You also have to add in the Ryder Cup team USA victory.
Sheffler is taking the week off but the 2022 edition of the RBC Heritage still sports an impressive field. Justin Thomas comes in as the lone favorite at +1200 and Cameron Smith is at +1400. Smith stalked Scheffler for much of the day on Sunday at the Masters.
Last year Stewart Cink rose to the occasion for the RBC win which was his 3rd at this event. Cink also won the tournament in 2004 and 2000. That ties him with former player Hale Irwin who won three times while Davis Love III has won the RBC a total of five times. Cink comes in at +10000 while Love makes a return but is +50000.
As for this week’s favorites, oddsmakers are looking favorably on Dustin Johnson! Johnson was the outright favorite here last year and he comes in at +1600 before the opening round.
Here are the top-five favorites to win the 2022 RBC Heritage outright.
Justin Thomas +1200
Collin Morikawa +1400
Cameron Smith +1400
Dustin Johnson +1600
Patrick Cantlay +1600
2022 RBC Heritage Preview

From high winds at Augusta to everchanging Ocean breezes at Harbour Town! Add to that some misty rain and morning fog! But this course is known for pristine fairways that fade gently into groomed marshy areas. Errant golf balls can be tricky to find. Harbour Town is a beautiful course that can lure players into a false sense of security.
Going long may not be the best method for players at Hilton Head so look for the leaders to make full use of their irons. The game plan for many will be Irons, short irons, and wedges setting up putting opportunities.

2022 RBC Heritage Predictions
Cameron Smith +1400
Cameron Smith showed how good of a golfer he is last week at the Masters. He was a force all weekend long and only faded on one hole on Sunday that kept him from having a real opportunity to make a run at Sheffler. Of course, Sheffler didn’t blink so Smith would have probably not been able to catch him. Regardless, Smith is playing well and had an opening round of 69 at the Heritage last year.
Shane Lowry +2000
Shane Lowry was also in the running last week at the Masters. He had a few rough spots on Sunday which kept him from making a solid run to the front but finished the final few holes with solid putting. He finished here T3 in 2019 and T9 in 2021. He’s moved to the 2nd spot in the PGA for scrambling. His driver should be a factor this week with the South Carolina winds.
Webb Simpson +2800
Webb Simpson won this event in 202 when he downed Abraham Ancer by one stroke for the win. During that event, he went 22 under (262) for the tournament which was the lowest in RBC heritage history. He plays well here and plays both his driver and irons with precision at Harbour Town.
Others I Like: Tyrrell Hatton (+3300) had a horrible day on Sunday last week and it showed on his face. But, he was in control of his game for the first three days at Augusta. I’m looking for a good showing this week. Luke List (+8000) secured a win earlier this season and he’s known for being a sharp putter. That will come in handy this week with the terraced HArbour Town greens.
