Atlanta Seeks Redemption After Loss to Charlotte
After a frustrating 2-0 defeat to Charlotte FC, Atlanta United (1-1-0, 3 points) returns home looking to right the ship against the New York Red Bulls (1-1-0, 3 points) on Saturday.
Despite outshooting Charlotte 16-10, Atlanta failed to convert chances, managing just three shots on target. Two early second-half goals sealed their fate, handing head coach Ronny Deila his first loss in charge.
“When we got down 1-0, I think we lost organization,” Deila said. “Some of our players went into their shells, and we didn’t do what we talked about. We have to learn from this kind of experience.”
Atlanta will be banking on continued production from Emmanuel Latte Lath, who impressed in his debut with two goals against CF Montreal after signing for a league-record $22 million on Feb. 4.

Red Bulls Looking to Build Momentum
New York rebounded from an opening loss with a 2-0 victory over Nashville SC, thanks to first-half goals from Mohammed Sofo and Emil Forsberg. The Red Bulls hope this win signals a turnaround after last season’s improbable run to the MLS Cup final.
Head coach Sandro Schwarz feels the club is entering a new era of positive momentum.
“We had a great event in our stadium last week with our supporters, where we had conversations that were very open and thankful from both sides,” Schwarz said. “To compare the emotions from the fans now since the beginning of last season, it’s great. It’s the reason we are working so hard.”
After visiting Atlanta, New York will host Orlando City SC and Toronto FC in back-to-back home matches.
Key Matchup: Latte Lath vs. Red Bulls Defense
Atlanta’s new star striker Latte Lath has already shown his ability to finish in tight spaces, and his battle against the Red Bulls’ defense will be crucial. If Atlanta can create more quality chances than last week, the hosts could control the match.

Prediction: Can Atlanta Hold Strong at Home?
Atlanta will be eager to put last week’s loss behind them, but the Red Bulls’ defensive discipline could make this a tough matchup. Expect a close contest with plenty of intensity.
Final Score Prediction: Atlanta United 2, New York Red Bulls 1
