It’s a similar situation in the East where CF Montreal started the season with three straight losses but hasn’t lost since. The Canadians have won six matches and have two draws since March 12. CF Montreal is now tied with Philadelphia and Orlando atop the East with 20 points.
Two-time Wooden Spoon holder FC Cincinnati is also on a streak. They have won four straight and are now just behind the East leaders with 19 points.
Both CF Montreal and FC Dallas will be in action on Sunday. Here are the MLS predictions for Sunday, May 22nd 2022.
CF Montreal vs. Real Salt Lake
Pick: CF MONTREAL -120
Montreal has won three straight and has scored multiple goals in each match. Last week it was a 2-0 win over Charlotte on the road. The win moves Montreal into a tie for the top spot in the East.
Montreal has just one loss at home so far this season and that came back during their three-game losing streak to start the season. The loss was a 2-1 defeat to Philadelphia, one of the teams Montreal shares that top spot in the East with.
Montreal has not lost to Real Salt Lake since 2014 and owns a record of 4-2-2 in eight matches against RSL. Real Salt Lake struggles on the road. They have just one win and a 1-3-3 road record. Take the hot home team for the win.
FC Dallas vs. Minnesota
Pick: FC DALLAS -140
As mentioned, FC Dallas hasn’t lost since early March. They are tough to beat at home too. At Toyota Stadium, Dallas is 5-1-0. They have won their last two straight and have scored two or more goals in four straight.
Minnesota United has lost three straight matches and has totaled just one goal over that span. Minnesota is not a great road team either. Two of its recent three losses were away from home and they are 1-1-3 on the road this season.
In each of the last two matches these teams have played against each other, they have played to a draw. With Dallas at home though and the club’s success at Toyota Stadium, it’s hard to pass on them.
San Jose vs. Sporting KC
Pick: SAN JOSE +115
It’s a battle of two of the poorer teams in the West, but there is value on San Jose at plus-money. The Earthquakes actually have the best possession percentage (60.4%) in MLS. Plus, San Jose has only lost once at PayPal Park.
Sporting KC is fresh off giving up seven goals in a 7-2 defeat at the hands of Portland last week. Sporting KC has yet to win a road match going 0-1-6 away from home so far this season.
