The Darlington race weekend ended with Joey Logano bumping William Byron out of the way on the closing lap for the win. Payback by Byron against Logano is probably in the cards and it may come at Kansas Speedway during the running of the NASCAR Cup Series Advent Health 400. While that drama may be in the works it does not seem to have a bearing on this week’s list of favorites to win the race outright.
Joey Logano is not in the top favorites through +700 as in no other Ford driver. Logano comes into the race weekend at +1200 while Kyle Larson is the lone favorite at +450. Larson is the defending track winner at Kansas as he won the Fall race at the track.
Two other recent Kansas winners are among the favorites. Kyle Busch is next in line along with Denny Hamlin as both come in at +700. Busch won this event last season during the Spring when the race was named the Buschy McBusch Race 400. The name was due to a promotional campaign by Busch Beans where fans voted to name the Cup Race. Hamlin won back-to-back races at Kansas when he won the fall race in 2019 followed by the 2020 race.
These numbers show that oddsmakers see this as being a tight event. There is one clear favorite in the form of Larson followed by six drivers waded tightly together. That may not be the case on the track as cars can spread out during races at Kansas.
Here are the favorite drivers to win the Advent Health 400 outright:
Kyle Larson +450
Kyle Busch +700
Denny Hamlin +700
Chase Elliott +700
William Byron +1000
Ross Chastain +1000
Martin Truex Jr +1000
One big thing to keep in mind this week at Kansas is former winners at the track. The number is impressive, especially when you total the number of combined races these drivers have racked up. Here are eight drivers in the field that have won Cup Series races at Kansas. They are Larson, Busch, Logano, and Hamlin as mentioned above.
Also, Martin Truex Jr, Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski, and Chase Elliott have logged wins at Kansas. Combined, the eight drivers have grabbed the checkered flag at Kansas a total of seventeen times.

2022 AdventHealth 400 Predictions
Kyle Larson +700
Kyle Larson was dominant at Kansas during his win here during the 2021 Fall race. He was the leader for 120 laps during that race and has led more laps there than any other driver in the last ten Kansas races. And, Larson has only raced in eight of those ten Kansas races due to him missing two events due to his suspension. Larson has had some mechanical issues this season but that seems to be one of the only things that prevented him from winning additional races this year.
William Byron +1000
William Byron has had strong cars all season long and was looking for the win last week before he and Logano got into it. He’s already won twice this season with the first win coming at Atlanta Motor Speedway and then a few weeks later he grabbed the checkered flag at Martinsville. Byron is shaping up to be one of the strongest cars this season.
Kevin Harvick +1800
Kevin Harvick is the No. 1 ranked driver at Kansas according to NASCAR stats when looking at the last ten Cup Series races at the track. Over that time, Harvick was won once at Kansas, led over 400 laps, and finished 10th or better in eight of those ten races with six runs inside the 5th spot. He’s finished 4 th or better in his last four trips to the track. Last week at Richmond he finished 4th.
Others to Consider: Another week where I’m hesitant on Martin Truex Jr. (+1000) This is simply because of some of the inconsistent finishes he’s had this season. I’m sure his team realizes that a couple of weeks with clean runs could amount to making this another possible Championship season. Some of the same thoughts apply to Brad Keselowski. His race last week was a combination of a great run and many head-scratching moments. Switching to a new team, even as an owner-driver, is proving more difficult than he may have realized.
