The Miami Heat and the Phoenix Suns can put an end to their respective series tonight in a pair of Game 6 battles.
Both the Heat and the Suns won Games 1 and 2 on their home floors. Teams that win the first two games of a series win that series 92.4 percent of the time.
In each series, the home team has won every game so far. Can Miami and/or Phoenix win a game on the road to advance?
To do so, both teams will need outstanding performances from some of their key players. Here’s a look at the top NBA player props picks for Thursday, May 12th 2022.
Tyrese Maxey Over 19.5 Points
Maxey has been outstanding for Philadelphia during this year’s postseason. He was way off his game in Game 5 of the 76ers series with Miami. Maxey hit just 2-of-10 from the floor and was held under double digits for the first time in the playoffs.
Heading back to the Wells Fargo Center, Maxey will feel much more comfortable at home. In this series, Maxey is shooting 12-of-21 from the floor at home. Maxey averaged 17.5 points a game during the season, but he’s scoring 20.2 per game in this series. He will be a factor in tonight’s game and go Over 19.5.
Luka Doncic Under 8.5 Assists
Suns vs. Mavericks Predictions
Doncic is averaging 32.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 7.4 assists in the Mavericks series with Phoenix. Since the Kristaps Porzingis trade, Doncic has taken on a heavier scoring load. As a result, his assist numbers have dropped.
In six of eight playoff games this season, Doncic has gone Under 8.5 assists six times. The only two times Doncic went Over was in the Mavs’ two wins against Phoenix. In those two games, Doncic’s teammates hit a barrage of three-pointers that padded his assist numbers.
Doncic will once again be asked to perform the heavy lifting in the Mavs offense tonight. He’ll get his share of points which will cut into his assist numbers taking him Under 8.5.

Gabe Vincent Over 14.5 Points+Rebounds+Assists
With Kyle Lowry out of Game 6 for Miami, Vincent must step up. He has done that already and is proving himself as a very capable NBA guard.
Vincent hasn’t done anything spectacular, but he has been a solid option for the Heat. In three games without Lowry in the lineup, Vincent has averaged 10.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. He has scored in double digits twice, hit at least one three-pointer in every start, and he has gone Over this PRA line in two of the three games.
Vincent averages 17.0 PRA in each start when Lowry was out. He’ll go Over tonight as well.
Devin Booker Over 2.5 Threes
Booker has hit Over 2.5 Threes in six of his playoff appearances this season. He has scored more than 27 points in three of his last four games and hit three or more three-pointers in each game. Booker is attempting at least six threes per game and he has been shooting the lights out.
