The NBA playoff resume tonight after an off day on Thursday. Both Miami and Phoenix, the top seeds in their respective conferences, lead their series 2-0.
Falling behind 0-3 in an NBA playoff series is a death warrant. No NBA team has ever come back from a 0-3 deficit in a playoff series in the history of the league.
If Philadelphia and Dallas plan on sticking around a little longer, they will need some clutch performances in tonight’s Game 3s.
A number of players have some interesting props bets tonight. Here are the top NBA player props picks for Friday, May 6th 2022.
Jimmy Butler Over 1.5 Steals
There is a reason why Miami is up 2-0 in its series with Philadelphia – defense. The Heat have allowed the Sixers an average of 97.5 points per game so far.
If you go back to their first series with Atlanta, Miami has won four straight games. In those four games, the Heat allowed 103 points or less for an average of just 93.7 points per game.
One of the reasons why Miami is killing it on defense in the playoffs is Jimmy Butler. In every playoff game so far this season, Butler has had at least two steals. Since joining the Heat, Butler has played eight regular season games against Philly. He recorded at least two steals in six of the eight games.
Miami is forcing 15.3 turnovers per game in the postseason. Butler comes through again.
Danny Green Over 7.5 Points

The Sixers need someone to step up with Joel Embiid out of the lineup. Tyrese Maxey did have 34 points in Game 2, but James Harden continues to underperform.
Enter Danny Green. Now, Green has been pretty bad in Games 1 and 2. Combined, Green is just 3-of-16 from the floor, 2-of-14 from three-point range.
In past postseasons though, Green has been known as a Heat killer. Look up the 2013 NBA Finals when Green played for San Antonio. The guy can shoot threes.
He’ll see more usage tonight and will surpass 7.5 points.
Chris Paul Over 18.5 Points
Suns vs. Mavericks Predictions
Paul has been shooting the lights out from mid-range, a ridiculous 72 percent. He’s also averaging 20.8 points per game in the playoffs.
In each of his last four games, Paul has surpassed tonight’s number. He averaged 22.3 points a game against New Orleans in the first-round playoff series and he’s at 23.5 ppg in this series.
Luka Doncic Over 3.5 Threes Made
Doncic has been unstoppable so far this postseason. He scored 45 points in Game 1 and 35 in Game 2. The problem for Dallas is that no one else has really stepped up.
Doncic is going to get his shots. He averages roughly 10 three-point attempts per game and he’s shooting 39 percent from behind the arc. Dallas averages 40 three-point attempts per game and that isn’t going to change in Game 3.
In four of the five playoff games he’s played so far, Doncic has hit at least four three-pointers. He’ll shoot even better at home.
