Tonight’s game marks the first of two over the next couple of weeks, and what we see in this one on the road could be a great indicator of where the No. 5 team in the nation lands at the end of the day. The Wildcats come into this matchup with a 7-1 record and lead the conference with a 2-0 record. The Marquette Golden Eagles come in at 5-4 and 1-2 respectively in their division.

Villanova has shown their defensive prowess with big wins over Arizona State and Texas. Marquette loves to run but this one will not go their way, even at home. Villanova can make an opponent play “small ball” and this game will be a series of tight-fisted, no let down, clog up the middle, and no relief in sight for Marquette. Expect a defensive battle and expect Marquette to hang around early, then lose their wind after the first half.

No matter how you slice it, these two hate each other and you can expect a bitter battle. Last season saw Oregon pound UCLA by a 21-point margin. The Ducks come stacked with players such as Duarte, but others have moved on to the NBA. We expect this one to be tighter. We expect an Oregon clamp down and a “slow down”. There will be no cherry-picking, no running and gunning like the 1990 Running Rebels! This one should land in the high 120’s.

The Vols have allowed more than 60-points one time this season and that was 63, to St. Joe’s. They will not allow 60 tonight, and most likely, more like 40. This one will be a blowout by the 5-0 Volunteers against 0-7 SC Upstate. We love the under in this kind of game, expect it to go well under and you will always be comfortable.
