Dodgers Take Win Streak Into Atlanta for Clash With Braves

The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to extend their five-game winning streak when they begin a 10-game road trip Friday night with a high-profile showdown against the Atlanta Braves.

Dodgers Riding Momentum Into Atlanta

Fresh off a three-game sweep of the Miami Marlins, the Dodgers are tied with the New York Mets for the most wins (21) in MLB. Their early dominance has included a three-game sweep of the Braves in early April — a series that helped drop Atlanta to an 0-7 start.

Now, the Dodgers aim to continue their success against a much-improved Braves squad.

Yamamoto Looks to Rebound in Series Opener

The pitching matchup features one of the National League’s best arms in Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto (3-2, 1.06 ERA) against Braves starter Grant Holmes (2-1, 4.50 ERA).

Yamamoto has been exceptional to start the season, allowing no more than three runs in any of his six starts. However, he took a rare loss in his last outing against the Pirates, giving up three runs (one earned) on five hits and four walks over five innings.

“He just wasn’t as pinpoint,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after the game.

Yamamoto did not face Atlanta during the early-season series but posted four scoreless innings against the Braves in 2024.

Braves Counter With Holmes Amid Rotation Shuffle

Holmes will get the nod for Atlanta despite coming off his roughest outing of the year — a six-run, three-homer performance over 5 2/3 innings against Arizona.

“Didn’t have the greatest outing, but… we got the W,” Holmes said. “That’s really all that matters.”

Edman Returns for Dodgers, Braves Bring Back Familiar Face

Dodgers utility man Tommy Edman is expected to return to the lineup after missing Wednesday’s game with a sprained ankle. His return boosts an already potent L.A. offense.

Atlanta, meanwhile, continues to shuffle its roster. The Braves re-signed 2021 NLCS MVP Eddie Rosario, who went 0-for-3 in his return but made a pair of strong defensive plays in the outfield.

“It’s good to be back with teammates, coaches and people I’m familiar with,” Rosario said.
