The opening week of the CFL regular season is in the books. Eight of nine teams were in action. Only the Toronto Argonauts had a bye week, but they’ll open up week 2 action against the Alouettes on Thursday.

Here’s a recap from CFL week 1 action:

Alouettes (27) vs. Stampeders (30) – Alouettes covered ATS and the over cashed.

Redblacks (17) vs. Blue Bombers (19) – Redblacks covered ATS and the under cashed.

Tiger-Cats (13) vs. Roughriders (30) – Roughriders covered ATS and the under cashed.

Elks (15) vs. Lions (59) – Lions covered ATS and the over cashed.

Favorites ended up going 4-0 SU (2-2 ATS) and the over/under was split at 2-2.

How to Bet on the CFL

Alouettes vs. Argonauts Prediction

When: Thursday, June 16th 2022 at 7:30 PM ET

Spread: Argonauts -4 / Total: 48.5 Points

The Alouettes (0-1) lost to the Stampeders in week 1. They were up 24-14 at halftime, but were outscored 16-3 in the second half. There were some positives, including the running game.

Montreal rushed for 140 yards and had 2 rushing TDs. Vernon Adams had 1 of the rushing TDs and he also threw for 1 TD (250 passing yards), but he also tossed two interceptions.

Toronto didn’t play in week 1 and they’ll be hungry on Thursday night at home. The Als are only 1-5 ATS in the last six H2H meetings in Toronto, so the home favorites should get out to a 1-0 start this season.

Blue Bombers vs. Redblacks Prediction

When: Friday, June 17th 2022 at 7:30 PM ET

Spread: Blue Bombers -4 / Total: 44.5 Points

The Blue Bombers (1-0) defeated the Redblacks (0-1) in week 1 at home. These two teams will now play against each other in Ottawa.Winnipeg is 5-0 ATS in the last five H2H games played in Ottawa.

However, we’re siding with the Redblacks ATS this week. Jeremiah Masoli looked great in his Redblacks debut. He threw for 380 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. With that type of production, the points will come.

Best Bet: Redblacks +4 (-105)

2022 CFL Win Totals Predictions

Stampeders vs. Tiger-Cats Prediction

When: Saturday, June 18th 2022 at 6:30 PM ET

Spread: Tiger-Cats -2 / Total: 47 Points

The Stampeders (1-0) needed a 2nd half comeback to defeat the Als in week 1. Ka’Deem Carey scored 2 rushing TDs on 13 carries (60 rushing yards). Bo Levi Mitchell was injured in the 4Q, but is fine.

Keep an eye on Mitchell’s status as the week progresses, though he’s expected to suit up.

The Tiger-Cats (0-1) kept things close on the road against Saskatchewan in week 1 until they were blown out in the final quarter. The offense was brutal and it could be a long season for Hamilton.

Best Bet: Stampeders +2 (-115)

Roughriders vs. Elks Prediction

When: Saturday, June 18th 2022 at 9:30 PM ET

Spread: Roughriders -7.5 / Total: 49 Points

The Elks (0-1) were dominated by the Lions in week 1. They allowed 59 points and threw 4 INTs in the game. Edmonton are going to struggle in 2022, but the Roughriders (1-0) need to cover a big spread.

Cody Fajardo should be able to air it out again in week 2. He threw for 311 yards and 1 TD in the win against Montreal. However, points may be hard to come by and we’re betting on the under.
