Day 1 of the 2022 MLB Playoffs produced some great games and some interesting results. Some of the big favorites on Friday failed to come through and it created some big games on Saturday, October 8th.
Betting on baseball is always a good option when it comes to the playoffs and there are many different betting choices to pick from. Here is the top bet to make from the four games on Saturday, October 8th.
Tampa Bay Rays vs. Cleveland Guardians
Best Bet: Guardians ML (-120)
The Cleveland Guardians are looking to eliminate the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday by picking up another win at home. Cleveland got a two-run home run from Jose Ramirez on Friday and that was all the offense they would need.
This pitching match-up should be tremendous again, as it will be Triston McKenzie on the mound for Cleveland and Tyler Glasnow starting for Tampa Bay. Both teams have been struggling to find offense this season, but it will be Cleveland that gets another big hit.
Take the Guardians moneyline at -120 as they win and eliminate the Rays.
Seattle Mariners vs. Toronto Blue Jays
Best Bet: Blue Jays -1.5 (+125)
The Seattle Mariners shut out the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday to begin that three-game series. Seattle jumped out to an early lead and then their pitching staff dominated in shutting out the Blue Jays lineup.
There will be two great starting pitchers taking the mound in this game, but at some point, this Toronto offense is going to respond. This game should feature more offense for each team, but it will be Toronto that gets the biggest hits.
Take the Blue Jays -1.5 as they bounce back in a big way in this game.

San Diego Padres vs. New York Mets
Best Bet: Under 5.5 Runs
The New York Mets were hoping to save Jacob DeGrom for the NLDS, but that isn’t going to be the case. DeGrom will take the ball on Saturday, and the Mets are in a must-win situation after dropping Game 1.
Blake Snell is going to start for the Padres and he is coming into this game with a ton of momentum. San Diego was able to put up plenty of runs in the series opener, but that offense won’t have that same success in this game.
This will be a game that is dominated by pitching and taking the under 5.5 runs is the best bet to make in this game.
Philadelphia Phillies vs. St. Louis Cardinals
Best Bet: Phillies ML (-130)
The St. Louis Cardinals blew a 2-0 lead in the ninth inning of Game 1, as the Philadelphia Phillies scored six runs in the ninth inning. Aaron Nola now takes the ball for the Phillies in Game 2 and he can push the Phillies into the second round.
The Cardinals are going to have to score some runs to win this game, but that won’t be easy against Nola. Miles Mikolas has been sharp this season for the Cardinals, but he won’t be good enough to shut the Phillies down.
Take the Phillies -130 over the Cardinals in Game 2 on Saturday night.
