Early on in the 2022 MLB season, there were a number of reasons given as to why so many games were going Under the posted game total.
With the lockout prior to this season, teams were allowed to carry extra pitchers. That helped early in the season with teams having more fresh arms.
There was also talk of changes to the baseball itself which has led to fewer home runs and less scoring. Whatever the reasons, the Under is still the trend so far this MLB season.
In all games, the Under has hit in 51.4 percent of MLB games. In games that have not gone to extra innings, the Under has cashed nearly 52 percent (51.92%) of the time.
There may be a few games today that go Under the total. Here’s a look at the top MLB Over/Under picks for Monday, June 13, 2022.
Miami Marlins vs. Philadelphia Phillies
Best Bet: UNDER 7.5
Miami’s Sandy Alcantara has the second-best ERA in the majors – 1.61. He has given up two or fewer earned runs in all but one of his 12 starts this season. He is coming off a complete game shutout of Washington.
The Phillies Aaron Nola is fourth in the majors in strikeouts. He’s coming off an eight-inning outing against Milwaukee. He didn’t allow a run and struck out six.
Both pitchers have gone deep into their last few starts and haven’t given up much in terms of runs. This has the makings of a 3-2 or 4-3 game.
Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays
Best Bet: OVER 8.5
There’s a reason why this total is 8.5. The Blue Jays are averaging 6.5 runs a game over their last ten. They have scored at least six runs in seven of their last ten games.
On the other end is Baltimore pitcher Kyle Bradish. He is just 1-3 on the season and his ERA is 6.45. The guy gives up a lot of runs.
He hasn’t faced Toronto, but he did face another AL East team with a tough lineup – Boston. In that start Bradish gave up six earned runs … in 1.2 innings.
The Orioles scored 16 runs in games on Saturday and Sunday and don’t forget that Rogers Centre in Toronto is a top-10 ballpark for home runs.

Chicago White Sox vs. Detroit Tigers
Best Bet: UNDER 8.5
This is a high total for two teams that have trouble scoring. The Tigers are dead last in the majors averaging a paltry 2.75 runs per game. Detroit scored four runs in a weekend series against Toronto.
The White Sox actually managed to put up 23 runs in their weekend series with Texas, but Chicago found a way to lose two of the three games.
Chicago is 26th in MLB in scoring averaging 3.91 runs per game. The White Sox have been trending Over lately with four of their last five going Over the total.
The total has gone Under in five of the Tigers last six at home and for the season the Tigers O/U record is 19-37-3 (11-19-2 at home).
Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers
Best Bet: UNDER 9
The Astros are still in the bottom half of MLB in scoring. Pitcher Cristian Javier has a 3.22 ERA and he’s pitched twice against the Rangers already.
Javier gave up one earned run in six innings against Texas back in mid-May. He gave up two earned runs in his first start of the season against the Rangers. Both games (3-0 and 4-3) went Under this total.
Houston has MLB’s best bullpen ERA and second-best overall. Globe Life Field is a pitcher-friendly park. It ranks 29th in runs per game.
