College basketball season is off to a hot start throughout the country. The weekend college hoops slate gives people a great chance to turn some big bets into massive payouts. This weekend has some very fair spreads that are too good to resist.
It’s not too late to bet on 2021 college basketball futures.

Here are three great picks against the spread for Saturday’s college basketball action.
Syracuse at Boston College Predictions
Best Bet: Syracuse -3
Syracuse is off to a solid start this season. The Orange are 3-1 on the year, stringing together three wins after losing their opener, where they were beaten by No. 21 Rutgers by a score of 79-69.
Syracuse is 2-2 ATS this season, and I love them at (-3) on Saturday. The Orange and Golden Eagles have comparable offenses. Syracuse is averaging 79 PPG, and Boston College is averaging 75.8 points per game. The big difference between these two teams is their play in the backcourt.
Syracuse is a superior defensive team. They’re only giving up 65 points per game and averaging 10 steals per game. Boston College hasn’t been great defensively this season, and that’s a big reason they’re 1-4 on the year. They’ve given up more than 90 points in two of their past three contests. Syracuse Forward, Alan Griffin, should have a monster outing on Saturday. The junior can exploit the Golden Eagles and continue putting up big numbers.
College Basketball Predictions
Texas A&M at TCU Predictions
Best Bet: Texas A&M +2
Texas A&M hasn’t been tested this season. The Aggies are undefeated with a record of 3-0, but they haven’t played a major program yet. TCU will be their first test of the year.
The Horned Frogs are on a two-game losing streak and sitting at 4-2 on the year. Their two losses came against unranked Oklahoma and Providence.
Despite their easier competition, I’ve still been impressed with Texas A&M in their opening contests this year. They’re the dog in this matchup because they haven’t played a reputable program in 2020; however, I think the Aggies show up big on Saturday afternoon on the road.
A&M senior guard Quenton Jackson is shooting better than 65% from the field this season, which is a difficult percentage no matter the competition level a player faces. I expect him to lead the Aggies to an underdog win on Saturday.

Detroit Mercy at Western Michigan Predictions
Best Bet: Detroit Mercy +2.5
I love Detroit Mercy. Many people have probably never heard of this school, but this team knows how to grind. They still haven’t won a game yet, but they’ve thrown themselves into the fire this season. The Titans are 0-3, but they played Michigan State and Notre Dame tough, losing both games by single-digits. They also had scheduled games against Richmond and Kentucky, but those games were canceled.
Saturday’s tilt is the definition of a trap game for Western Michigan. The Broncos are only 1-2 on the year, but Detroit Mercy will give them a fight. I expect Detroit Mercy to win the game because they have experience against good teams. It’s so valuable to get tested early in the season, and I think this will pay off on Saturday.
Detroit Mercy will need to shoot better than they have to win the game. They’re 2-1 against the spread but have only shot 37.6% from the field. Junior leader Antoine Davis will need to lead his team on Saturday. He’s averaging close to 20 PPG, but he’ll have to be more efficient with the basketball. I think Detroit Mercy will turn some heads on Saturday.
