MLB Best Bets for Monday, June 6th 2022

Major League Baseball is here to kick off the week with a smaller but still exciting schedule of professional action.

The Los Angeles Angels’ losing streak ballooned to 11 games over the weekend. At the same time, the New York Yankees are streaking.

Here are the best bets to place Monday.

Boston Red Sox vs. Los Angeles Angels

Red Sox vs. Angels Picks

Best Bet: Red Sox +1.5

The Red Sox are sitting at .500 on the season. They have won four straight games. They’re playing far better baseball than they were during a confusingly poor start to their campaign.

They have also outscored their opponents 27-5 during their recent winning stretch. They’ve been getting it done both on offense and defense.

Michael Wacha (3-1, 2.43 ERA) will be charged with leading the underdogs to a victory. In his last outing, he blanked the Cincinnati Reds in 5.2 innings.

The Angels are in total freefall. Early, they seemed to have established themselves as a contender for the American League title. Now, they are 27-28 and have been losing rather convincingly.

Mike Trout’s play has declined severely, which has been a major contributor to the slump. Alongside poor pitching and a supporting cast that has not been able to step up in moments of need. Noah Syndergaard (4-3, 4.02 ERA) will lead the effort to get his team back to winning ways against Boston.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Kansas City Royals

Blue Jays vs. Royals Picks

Best Bet: Blue Jays ML

The Blue Jays recently passed the Tampa Bay Rays for second in the American League East. Toronto has a 31-22 record despite losing two of their last three outings.

Toronto started its season disappointingly. Offseason expectations had led many to believe that they would be World Series representatives. Now, they are finally starting to fulfill the potential that many knew they possessed.

Ross Stripling (1-1, 4.22 ERA) will have the job of simply holding the line and giving his explosive offense enough room to play freely and keep its bats hot.

The Royals, at 17-35, are one of the worst ball clubs in the MLB. It’s been bad since the season kicked off.

KC has lost six of its last seven. Their 13 games out of first place in the American League Central. Both their offense and defense have proven to be far below the necessary standard. Daniel Lynch (2-4, 4.81 ERA) will have to lead the upset against a team with the most electric batters in baseball.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Cincinnati Reds

Diamondbacks vs. Reds Picks

Best Bet: Under 9.5 Runs

The pitching matchup in the Diamondbacks-Reds series features Madison Bumgarner (2-4, 3.31 ERA) and Hunter Greene (2-7, 6.19 ERA). This does not lead to the under on its face, but that is not the determining factor.

What matters most is that Arizona and Cinci struggle to hit the ball consistently. Relying on them to carry a game to the over is unwise. Bet the under as both teams show why they have some of the worst batting averages in baseball.

Parlay: Guardians ML / Astros ML

Rangers vs. Guardians Picks / Mariners vs. Astros Picks

The Guardians’ biggest problem has been consistency. However, they have won five of their last six games. They are facing a Rangers team whose win condition of random and explosive offensive outbursts matches that of Clevelands. The Astros, meanwhile, look like they are cruising to the ALCS. The Mariners have done decently well against lesser teams but struggle against top opponents.
