Blazing Hot Fire Offense Out for Revenge on Nashville SC
Fueled by a record-tying offensive outburst, the Chicago Fire are hungry for payback when they host Nashville SC on Saturday night.
The Fire (7-5-4, 25 points) are riding high after a 7-1 demolition of D.C. United last weekend — a victory that matched the club record for goals in a match. Chicago will now look to even the score after suffering a humbling 7-2 loss to Nashville earlier this season.
“We went to their place and it wasn’t a good result for us, and that’s something we want to prepare for, especially at home,” Fire forward Tom Barlow said. “I’m focused on getting back to training, getting back to work.”

Barlow Sparks Record-Breaking Win
With top scorer Hugo Cuypers sidelined by a lower-body injury, Barlow made the most of his first start of the season. The 28-year-old striker netted a hat trick, scoring in the 30th, 44th, and 65th minutes to power the Fire’s rout of D.C. United.
The win improved Chicago to 6-1-1 across all competitions since early May — a stark turnaround from their early-season struggles. The Fire’s latest form suggests they’ll be more than ready for the rematch with Nashville.
Nashville Riding Unbeaten Streak
Nashville SC (8-4-5, 29 points) have also found their groove, entering Saturday’s match unbeaten in their last eight MLS outings (4-0-4). Their current run began with that 7-2 blowout of Chicago on April 26.
In their most recent match on May 31, Nashville battled to a 2-2 draw with New York City FC, powered by Sam Surridge’s second brace in three games. Surridge now ranks second in MLS with 11 goals, trailing only Philadelphia’s Tai Baribo (13).
“The rest will be good,” Nashville coach B.J. Callaghan said. “… There’s a lot of season left, and we’re going to use the time in June to really focus on ourselves and improve ourselves. We have things that need to get cleaned up.”
Surridge has recorded 14 goal contributions this season, tied for second-best in MLS alongside Baribo, and just behind Lionel Messi’s league-leading 16. Nashville playmaker Hany Mukhtar has also been a force, tallying seven goals and six assists.
Fire Eyeing Redemption at Home
Chicago’s offense is clicking at the right time. Cuypers, despite missing last week’s match, still leads the Fire with 10 goals this season. Whether he returns to the lineup or Barlow gets another shot up top, the Fire are eager to showcase their improved form.
With both teams among the Eastern Conference’s highest-scoring sides, Saturday’s showdown promises fireworks. Bettors looking for an edge should dive into the latest Soccer predictions and MLS picks for insights on this marquee clash.
