“We know we need to do more. We all know that this is not where we should be, and this is like a wake-up call for us, for everyone,” said FC Cincinnati midfielder Obinna Nwobodo. “We are too good to be in this situation. We need to make it right.”

Cincinnati Looking to Break the Slide

FC Cincinnati’s last win came over a month ago — a 2-0 result at Toronto FC on May 14. Since then, the Orange and Blue have dropped points in frustrating fashion, including blowing a two-goal lead in a 3-3 draw against FC Dallas.

They’ll aim to sweep the season series against New England after taking a 1-0 win on April 5 in their previous meeting. If successful, it would mark the first regular-season sweep of the Revolution since Cincinnati joined MLS in 2019.

New England (6-4-5, 23 points) enters Saturday’s clash in form, riding a nine-match unbeaten streak (5-0-4) since that loss in Cincinnati. The Revolution now open a three-game homestand following a tough stretch of matches on the road in both league and cup play.

“We understand, if you look at how tight the table is, if we win a couple games here, we’re going to shoot up into not just a playoff position, but perhaps the top four if we take care of business in the month of June,” said Revolution head coach Caleb Porter.
