St. Louis City Can Win If…
St. Louis must find a way to break down one of MLS’s stingiest defenses. They’ve only scored 24 goals this season, ranking 27th in the league, and will be without key players Conrad Wallem (suspension) and Chris Durkin (red card).
Interim coach David Critchley is focused on improving balance:
“We want to put an entertaining, attacking style of soccer out there for the fans and to win games, but sometimes you have to have a mindset of ‘how do you respond defensively’ as well.”
Joao Klauss leads the team with seven goals and will need to deliver a standout performance to give St. Louis a chance.
Nashville SC Can Win If…
Nashville’s attack, led by Sam Surridge (18 goals) and Hany Mukhtar (11 goals, 8 assists), must continue producing. The duo has accounted for 29 of the team’s 42 goals, and their finishing could be decisive against a struggling St. Louis defense.
Goalkeeper Joe Willis believes the team’s mentality will be the difference:
“More than any year in my career, what I’m seeing is a mentality that guys are almost addicted to winning… We’re so close to it that we’re not taking our foot off the pedal.”
Nashville’s defense has conceded just 26 goals, tied for second-fewest in MLS, giving them an excellent platform to secure all three points.
