They continue to ride Skylar Diggins’ hot hand and maintain defensive consistency. Diggins had 23 points in Thursday’s comeback win and has been a key factor in Seattle’s push for a playoff spot. With four games left, the Storm must win this game to solidify their position.
“I think we match up well with everybody … we are as talented as any team,” Diggins said after the win.
Seattle’s defense, particularly in transition, has been solid recently. If they shut down Chicago’s offensive flow and get contributions from Nneka Ogwumike (18.2 ppg, 7.1 rpg), they should cover comfortably.
Chicago Can Win If…
Angel Reese continues her dominant play and the Sky execute offensively. Reese is averaging a double-double on the season with 14.4 points and 12.6 rebounds. She had 15 points and 20 rebounds in Thursday’s loss to Phoenix.
“I get so frustrated with myself … but I know I am here for a reason,” Reese said after the tough loss.
Chicago needs Reese to take over while also improving its team offense, which ranks last in the league in points per game (76.0). If they find a way to hit shots early and avoid the slow starts that have plagued them, they might stand a chance at keeping things close.
