Louisiana Tech vs LSU Picks and Predictions — September 6, 2025
The LSU Tigers surged to No. 3 in the AP Top 25 after a statement 17-10 victory over preseason No. 4 Clemson in Week 1. Now, they return to Baton Rouge for their home opener against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, a team that posted a shutout win in its opener but faces a massive step up in competition.

LSU Can Win If…
The Tigers proved their championship credentials by dominating the trenches against Clemson, outrushing them 108-31 and protecting quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, who threw for 232 yards and a fourth-quarter TD.
Defensively, LSU shined behind linebacker Harold Perkins, who looked like his old self with five tackles, two QB hurries, and a sack in his return from injury.
“Clemson is a darn good football team, but it’s only one game,” coach Brian Kelly said. “We have a standard of playing football at LSU, and we have to play to that standard every Saturday.”
If LSU maintains that standard, this matchup should be a showcase game.
Louisiana Tech Can Win If…
The Bulldogs delivered a 24-0 shutout in Week 1, highlighted by a disruptive defense that registered four sacks and three takeaways. Quarterback Trey Kukuk showed dual-threat ability with 126 passing yards, a touchdown, and 48 rushing yards.
“Any time you get a shutout, it’s a big deal,” said head coach Sonny Cumbie.
To hang around with LSU, Louisiana Tech must generate turnovers and hope to slow the Tigers’ running game. Any offensive mistakes will be costly against one of the nation’s best defenses.
