Kansas City showed fight in its comeback win against Colorado, scoring three goals in the final 20 minutes. Dejan Joveljic struck twice, giving Sporting a much-needed attacking lift. Interim manager Kerry Zavagnin has emphasized discipline in transition while still encouraging numbers in the box.
“We’ve been really good in getting numbers in the box, but sometimes when you overdo it, you leave yourselves vulnerable in the defensive transition,” Zavagnin said.
If Sporting finds a balance between attack and defensive structure, they can frustrate Austin and tilt momentum in their favor.
