Teofimo Lopez Jr. Recent Fights
Over his last five fights Teofimo Lopez Jr. has put together some momentum, stringing together a handful of victories that have helped establish him as one of boxing’s most dynamic super lightweights.
His most recent bout came against Arnold Barboza Jr. in May 2025. He successfully defended his WBO belt against the previously undefeated Arnold Barboza Jr. at Times Square in New York. Loopez won by unanimous decision after controlling most of the fight with his speed and overall skillset.
In June 2024, Lopez took out Steve Claggett via decision after dictating the pace and action in this bout. It was a clear-cut victory for Lopez. It was also a solid win that followed up his February 2024, victory over Jamaine Ortiz who Lopez also beat via unanimous decision. His accuracy was too much for Ortiz to handle.
In June 2023, Lopez moved up in weight to beat Josh Taylor at the same venue as his upcoming fight. It was another unanimous decision win and helped Lopez reclaim status and gold.
Of his most recent bouts, this December 2022, fight against Sandor Martin was the closest. Lopez narrowly edged Sandor Martin via split decision.
In total, Lopez has won six straight fights after suffering the only loss of his professional career. That questionable defeat came against George Kamposos Jr. in November 2021, when Lopez fell via split decision.
Despite being the underdog for this bout, Lopez declares that he will exploit Stevenson this weekend:
“I’m gonna show everyone his defense is not as immaculate as they say it is. My job is to show the world the flaws that they can’t see. My job is to show the world that can’t nobody beat me. And I’m going to make it look pretty. And it’s going to be much prettier when I see him laid out flat.”
Teofimo Lopez Jr. Odds
Lopez Jr. enters this big world title fight as the underdog with odds ranging from +230 to +240. He opened at +250 odds, so his line hasn’t moved much. This is the biggest underdog moneyline since he fought Lomachenko in October 2020.
In his last few fights, Lopez was a -800 to -1300 betting favorite. However, he was also a small underdog against Josh Taylor with odds closing at +140.
Shakur Stevenson Recent Fights
Shakur Stevenson is already a three-division world champion, who remains undefeated on his career and is one of the most exciting boxers in the sport today.
His last bout came against William Zepeda in July 2025, and Stevenson easily won via unanimous decision with the scores of 118-110, 118-110, 119-109. Stevenson retained his WBC lightweight title and also showed more aggressiveness, which has been the target of critics.
Three months prior, Stevenson took out Josh Padley in February, via 9th round TKO. Padley accepted this bout on short notice, and was clearly outmatched by Stevenson who pressured the challenger as if he was stalking his prey.
Stevenson only fought once in 2024. A July bout against Artem Harutyunyan saw the unbeaten American win via unanimous decision. Stevenson put his boxing combos on display, along with precise defense and controlled tempo.
In 2023, Stevenson defeated Edwin De Los Santos in November via unanimous decision. The victory also brought a vacant WBC lightweight title with it. In April, he crushed Shuichiro Yoshino via 6th round KO. This fight shouldn’t have even happened based on the talent gap.
Ultimately, Stevenson’s rise through the last two divisions should foreshadow what’s going to happen in his new 140-pound weight class. Stevenson could’ve stayed at 135 pounds, but wanted to go up and fight guys like Lopez, who he thinks has weaknesses:
“He’s a very good fighter but I do see a lot of weaknesses. He’s not going to correct them overnight, he’s going to be the same Teo that we done seen a thousand times before. He going to come out there trying to perform highly and I’m going to take advantage of it. But as far as the weaknesses, I’m going to keep them to myself.”
Shakur Stevenson Odds
Stevenson opened as a -350 favorite and has seen his odds settle in a range of -275 to -340. He’s been a large favorite for most of his pro career. His closest line came against Oscar Valdez in April 2022. Stevenson opened as a -135 favorite but closed at -850. Valdez opened as a +108 underdog.
Teofimo Lopez Jr. vs. Shakur Stevenson Predictions
This is going to be an exciting fight as Lopez will bring his speed, power and in-ring swagger while Stevenson brings an elite skillset, defense and tactical prowess.
Lopez needs to make this fight uncomfortable, muddy the waters and try to win the exchanges. He’s not going to outpoint Stevenson. His best shot at winning is via knockout.
Stevenson is truly built for these elite-level fights. He’s an in-ring tactician that can fight at a distance and with patience or push the pace and smother his opponent. However, Stevenson will need to be mindful of Lopez’s power.
With that said, I see Stevenson winning this bout. He can fight from a distance and take the rounds on points, while also avoiding damage. Lopez will make this a competitive bout, but you have to like Stevenson’s boxing IQ to be the difference in this bout.
Bet: Shakur Stevenson (-330)
The Best Lopez Jr. vs. Stevenson Prop Bets
Let’s take a look at some of the best Teofimo Lopez Jr. vs. Shakur Stevenson prop bets:
Over/Under 10.5 rounds
- Over 10.5 (-800)
- Under 10.5 (+500)
This matchup is a great example of boxing at its purest form and not a chaotic encounter. Stevenson is a defensive guru in the ring and does not put himself in positions to suffer a high amount of damage. He will fight from a distance if needed or move around the ring as he picks his spots. Lopez will also be careful not to rush in carelessly. This bout screams Over 10.5 rounds, which the oddsmakers heavily agree.
Bet: Over 10.5 rounds (-800)
Will Fight go the distance?
- Yes (-625)
- No (+400)
In their combined 47 bouts, these two men have gone the distance in 24 of them. Lopez has gone the distance in seven of his last eight bouts including five in a row. Stevenson has gone the distance in seven of his last 10 pro fights.
Neither man has been stopped in their pro careers. Additionally, both have proven to be very durable. This bout will go the full 12 rounds and it offers slightly better value than the Over-Under.
Bet: Yes, Fight goes the distance (-625)
Method of Victory
- Lopez via TKO/KO/DQ (+800)
- Lopez via decision (+430)
- Stevenson via TKO/KO/DQ (+700)
- Stevenson via decision (-210)
- Draw (+1500)
As you can see from above, I believe this bout is going the full distance. And, no, I don’t see this being a draw. Stevenson is going to win this fight via decision. He’s built for these bouts where boxing skills, defense and IQ will score favorably with the judges.
Bet: Stevenson wins via decision (-210)
Betting on Rounds
- Either Winner in rounds 1-4 (+2000)
- Either Winner in rounds 5-8 (+900)
- Either Winner in rounds 9-12 (+800)
- Fight To Go The Distance (-625)
I don’t see either man losing inside the distance. If you wanted to take a flier on a hope and prayer, then go with the option of the fight ending in rounds 9-12. However, only place a small wager as this bout will go the distance.
Bet: Fight goes the distance (-625)
What’s Next For The Lopez Jr. vs. Stevenson Winner?
The winner of this fight will have plenty of options moving forward. Perhaps, the most likely outcome is a unification bout against Dalton Smith who has already publicly stated that he wants to fight the winner:
“It is a great fight and obviously I have my eyes on that as a potential opponent for those guys next. I will fight whoever I have got to fight.”
Another potential opponent could be Conor Benn who has stated that Stevenson agreed to fight him next. Speculation for that fight depends on how low Benn would come down in weight.
And, then, there’s Ryan Garcia who has thrown his name into the proverbial ring to fight the winner of this bout. Yet, Garcia believes that winner will be Stevenson based on the fact that Shakur is a bad style matchup for Lopez.
While there are no odds out for any of these potential matchups, you have to lean towards Smith being the likeliest opponent for the winner of this weekend’s contest. He’s a willing participant in a title unification bout and someone that could present a challenge for either fighter.
