The best case for Washington is a grind. Citron gets to the line, Austin plays, Iriafen rebounds, and the Mystics keep the Liberty out of transition. That can keep them inside the number. But if New York gets even a normal shooting night, the Liberty’s depth and frontcourt versatility should create separation.
On the total, I lean Under 167.5. New York can score into the 90s, so it is not a comfortable Under. But Washington’s offensive floor worries me. The Mystics scored 64 in the last meeting, and even with some positive regression, they may struggle to get enough clean looks to push this into a full Over unless New York does most of the work.
Projected score: New York Liberty 91, Washington Mystics 76. New York should control shot quality, win the frontcourt matchup, and pull away late if Washington has another cold perimeter stretch.
