The New York Liberty visit the Seattle Storm on Thursday, June 25, at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, with tipoff set for 10:00 p.m. ET. New York enters at 12-6 and 6-2 on the road, while Seattle comes in at 3-15 and trying to snap an 11-game losing streak.
New York got back on track Tuesday with an 87-76 road win over Las Vegas. That was important after back-to-back losses to Washington and Los Angeles, and it showed the Liberty still have enough structure to win tough road games even when everything is not flowing perfectly.
Seattle nearly stole one from Dallas on Sunday, losing 112-110 in overtime behind a huge Dominique Malonga performance. That was encouraging, but it still counted as another loss. The Storm have been competitive in stretches, but their offense and rebounding profile make it hard to trust them against a Liberty team with a much higher ceiling.

New York Liberty Betting Form
New York’s season has been a little uneven lately, but the Liberty still have one of the strongest betting profiles in the league. They average 88.9 points per game, shoot efficiently, move the ball well, and have enough frontcourt size to control matchups against weaker rebounding teams. Breanna Stewart remains the lead scorer, Jonquel Jones gives them the interior anchor, and Sabrina Ionescu’s playmaking still drives a lot of the cleanest looks.
The win in Las Vegas was the kind of result bettors wanted to see. Ionescu had 16 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, and New York held the Aces to 76 points. That defensive response mattered after the Liberty gave up 98 to Los Angeles and 86 to Washington in back-to-back losses. The New York Liberty stats and results still show a team that can cover big numbers when it defends without fouling and controls the glass.
The injury note is Satou Sabally. She is listed as questionable with a head/facial issue after leaving the Las Vegas game, and that affects New York’s wing depth and scoring balance. The Liberty can still win this matchup without her, but laying double digits on the road gets a little less comfortable if she sits. Bettors should monitor the New York Liberty injury report before tipoff.
Seattle Storm Betting Form
Seattle is fighting, but the results are brutal. The Storm have lost 11 straight, and even Sunday’s near-miss against Dallas came with a major defensive red flag. Scoring 110 in overtime is encouraging, but giving up 112 at home keeps the same problem alive. Seattle has not found enough two-way consistency to close games.
There are bright spots. Natisha Hiedeman is leading the team at 15.6 points and 4.7 assists per game, and Malonga’s 37-point, 12-rebound breakout against Dallas gives the Storm a new offensive angle. Flau’jae Johnson also gives Seattle another athletic scoring option. The Seattle Storm schedule and stats show a team averaging only 78.8 points per game, though, and that is the biggest concern against a New York offense that can create separation quickly.
The injury report does not help. Ezi Magbegor is out with a foot injury, which is a major loss against New York’s size. Taina Mair has also been ruled out by coach’s decision, while Jade Melbourne is not listed on the injury report after dealing with a foot issue. Bettors should check the Seattle Storm injury report before backing the underdog, because Seattle needs every healthy ball-handler and frontcourt body it can get.
New York Liberty vs Seattle Storm Matchup Breakdown
The matchup starts with New York’s frontcourt. Stewart and Jones should have a clear edge against a Seattle team missing Magbegor. If the Liberty get paint touches early and force help, Ionescu and the weak-side shooters can punish rotations. That is how this spread can get away from Seattle.
Seattle’s best path is pace and shotmaking. Hiedeman has to create enough early offense to keep New York from setting its defense, and Malonga needs to build on that Dallas performance without forcing tough looks. If Seattle becomes too dependent on late-clock jumpers, New York’s length and rebounding should take over.
The turnover battle matters, too. New York has had loose stretches this season, and Seattle does create steals. That is the underdog’s path to cheap points. The Storm probably need live-ball turnovers, offensive rebounds and a hot three-point night to stay inside 12.5.

I lean New York against the spread. It is a big road number, and Sabally’s status keeps me from loving it completely, but the matchup is still too lopsided. Seattle is missing Magbegor, the Storm are getting crushed by losses, and New York has enough size and shot creation to build a double-digit margin.
The Liberty should be able to dictate the game through Stewart and Jones. Seattle can hang around if Malonga is special again, but asking a 3-15 team on an 11-game skid to replicate a near-upset while also slowing New York’s offense is a lot. New York’s defense also looked sharper against Las Vegas, and that version should travel.
The total leans Under 168.5. Seattle’s Dallas game exploded, but that feels more like an outlier than a new baseline. New York can defend, Seattle still averages under 80 points per game, and the Storm’s best cover path probably involves slowing the game and keeping possessions physical. I prefer the side, but the Under makes sense.
Projected score: New York Liberty 88, Seattle Storm 73. The Liberty have the cleaner offense, stronger frontcourt and better defensive profile, while Seattle’s injuries and losing streak make the dog hard to trust.
