Denver Nuggets at Dallas Mavericks Picks

Nuggets vs. Mavericks Game Preview

Best Bet: Over 222.5 Points

When you’ve got the Denver Nuggets playing, it’s always important to take their opponent into account. Against a Devin Booker-less Phoenix Suns team the other night, we watched the game go to two overtimes, where the Nuggets wound up scoring 120 points.

Had the game ended in regulation, a loss expected before Jamal Murray’s heroics, Denver would have been at just 95 points. Phoenix is a good defensive team.

Meanwhile, with Dallas, you never know what you will get. Kristaps Porzingis is in and out of the lineup, and his status for this one will likely be determined closer to tip-off.

When Luka Doncic is on the court, great things can happen. Dallas had the most effective offense in NBA history by the numbers a year ago.

In this specific instance, betting the over is safe. The Nuggets will score over 115 themselves, taking some pressure off a short-handed Mavs team. This total is a figure to bet OVER on.

Oklahoma City Thunder at Portland Trail Blazers Picks

Thunder vs. Trail Blazers Game Preview

Best Bet: Over 222.5 Points

The spread in this game is identical to that of the Nuggets-Mavericks contest. This is a weird Thunder team, winning more than any of us expected thus far, despite Al Horford missing from the team right now.

The Thunder have gotten a lot from Shai-Gilgeous Alexander and some of their young players who were not expected to contribute much. The offense is doing some things that we didn’t foresee with strong young pieces.

Meanwhile, Portland will continue to rack up the score whether or not CJ McCollum is there. It will take a little more effort with other players getting his minutes, but it will still happen.

Some nights we will see Carmelo Anthony score over 20, while Gary Trent Jr. can get hot from deep with the best of them. Enes Kanter gives the Blazers 16 to 18 points per game right around the basket.

Bet the under on this one, though, because Oklahoma City is a scrappy bunch that will make life a little harder for its opponents.

Minnesota Timberwolves at Golden State Warriors Picks

Timberwolves vs. Warriors Game Preview

Best Bet: Over 225.5 Points

Minnesota enters off a surprise win over New Orleans, just its fourth in 15 games. Coach Ryan Saunders’ seat should be starting to get hot, though no rumors of his firing have been circulating.

It’s unfortunate because he’s a very likable individual, but it is probably for the best. Without Karl-Anthony Towns, the Timberwolves have to pray for wins most nights.

Golden State got rocked in its last game, and it might be the wake-up call it needed. Off a win over the Lakers, the Warriors were riding high and may have needed a quick reality check.

With Stephen Curry leading the squad, the Warriors can run up the score on a lot of teams, though.

Bet the over. Golden State will fix its offensive woes, and 225.5 is low for a game involving the Warriors.

Miami Heat at Brooklyn Nets Picks

Heat vs. Nets Game Preview

Best Bet: Over 235.5 Points

This high figure should not scare you. The Heat and Nets combined for over 250 points on Saturday night and should be playing another similar contest here. It went down to the wire, as this one likely will too.

Expect both teams to be bringing their best, and for James Harden to shoot the ball more than the eight times he did on Saturday. He’s still feeling out his new situation, and now having another game with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant under his belt, he should be better.

Bam Adebayo will do some good things for Miami, which is still extremely short-handed. This will be a fun battle, though, with a lot of scoring. Take over 235.5, folks.
