Our number leans to the Jets, but 4.7 points is not enough. No bet.
The Boston Bruins are -115 and the Winnipeg Jets -105 at DraftKings, a 48.9% chance for the Jets once the margin is removed. Our number gives the Jets 53.6%. The gap is 4.7 points. A side is a bet when the gap is 5 points or more, so this is a pass.
How the number is built
One clause: our home win chance is the average of the home team’s 2025-26 home win rate and the visitor’s 2025-26 road loss rate, where a win in overtime or a shootout counts as a win.
The Jets went 19-16-6 at home, meaning 19 wins, 16 regulation losses and 6 losses after regulation. That is a 46.3% home win rate over 41 games. The Bruins went 16-16-9 on the road and lost 25 of 41, a 61.0% road loss rate. The average is 53.6% for the Jets, 46.4% for the Bruins.
The margin is the few points a book builds into both prices so that they add to more than 100%. Removed from -115 and -105, it leaves the Bruins at 51.1% and the Jets at 48.9%.
It is a new season. Rosters change over a summer, and this page has no measure of what changed. Last season is the only evidence in hand: 41 home games for the Jets and 41 road games for the Bruins. The Bruins play at home to the New York Rangers on 29 September, and that game is not in these figures.
The Jets at home, the Bruins on the road
The Jets at home scored 3.02 goals a game and allowed 3.10. The Bruins on the road scored 3.10 and allowed 3.54. The Bruins’ road games were the higher-scoring ones, and they gave up more than they scored in them.
The Bruins were two teams by venue. They went 29-11-1 at home and 16-16-9 on the road, and nine of those road losses came after regulation. Each one is a loss under this method, which is why their road loss rate is 61.0% even though they won as many road games as they lost in regulation.
The Bruins finished 45-27-10 with 100 points and outscored opponents by 0.27 goals a game. They lost their playoff series 4-2 to the Buffalo Sabres. The Jets finished 35-35-12 with 82 points, outscored by 0.35 a game, and did not reach the playoffs.
The Bruins won both meetings in 2025-26: 6-3 at Winnipeg on 12 December and 6-1 at home on 19 March. Two games are a small sample, and the method does not use them.
Pick: no bet
No bet on the moneyline. The gap is 4.7 points against a 5-point threshold.
The Jets opened at -120 and the Bruins at +100, a gap of 1.4 points at those prices. Read on 24 September 2026 at 04:32 UTC, DraftKings via ESPN, the Jets were -105 and the Bruins -115. The move has gone toward the Bruins and brought the Jets close to the line.
What changes it
A longer price on either side. The Jets become a bet at +106 or longer, whatever the Bruins are priced at. The Bruins become a bet at +142 or longer.
A price is only one of the unknowns. This page states nothing about either lineup on 2 October. Check the lineups before you bet.
The total and the puck line
The total is 5.5, over -125 and under +105. The Jets’ games went over 5.5 in 47 of 82, and so did the Bruins’, 57.3% each. The Jets’ home games averaged 6.12 goals, the Bruins’ road games 6.64.
The over at -125 is priced at 53.2% with the margin removed. Our 57.3% sits 4.1 points above it, short of 5. Pass on the total.
The puck line has the Bruins -1.5 at +200 and the Jets +1.5 at -245. The Bruins won by two goals or more in 25 of 82 games. The Jets lost by two or more in 23 of 82. Averaged, Bruins -1.5 lands 29.3% of the time against 31.9% priced. Pass on the puck line.
