Sadly, he have to put an asterisk on Tuesday’s props, because only one of them came off. We won that one, as Bryce Harper homered for the Phillies, but Christian Yelich didn’t play (positive COVID test) and the Blue Jays-Red Sox game got postponed.
So let’s do this again, as at least we can say we have the relatively hot hand. And actually, you can carry over our props on Hunter Renfroe (no hits) and Vlad Guerrero Jr. (over 1.5 total bases) because the same pitchers (Robbie Ray and Garrett Richards) go to the mound at 2:10 PM ET as part of a day-night doubleheader.

Here we go:
Dodgers vs. Giants Betting Report
ALEX DICKERSON (San Francisco Giants) UNDER 1.5 TOTAL BASES (-190)
Opponent: LOS ANGELES DODGERS (starter – Walker Buehler)
Time: 9:45 PM ET
Let’s be honest – Walker Buehler stops most people. But he has had a particular level of success against Alex Dickerson, who is hitting only .225 with 17 extra base hits.
Dickerson is just three-of-17 lifetime against Buehler, with seven strikeouts. And all three of those hits were singles.
In Buehler’s last four starts against the Giants, he has yielded just four earned runs and 17 hits in 27 innings, in case you were interested (and we know you are).
Yankees vs. Rays Betting Report
DJ LeMAHIEU (New York Yankees) OVER 1.5 HITS (+145)
Opponent: TAMPA BAY RAYS (starter – Michael Wacha)
Time: 7:10 PM ET
Michael Wacha threw six innings of one-hit ball at the Yankees on April 16. Yeah, it would be a nice part of the story if we could tell you that LeMahieu was the guy who got the hit, but we can’t. But hey – even after going 0-for-4 against the former Cardinals and Mets hurler, DJ is still 6-for-16 over the course of his career against him. Obviously we take into consideration that he is a two-time batting champion as well, and that he has hit in eight of his last nine games.
White Sox vs. Royals Betting Report
SALVADOR PEREZ (Kansas City Royals) OVER 1.5 TOTAL BASES (+110)
Opponent: CHICAGO WHITE SOX (Lucas Giolito)
Time: 8:10 PM ET
Yeah, we kind of like this one. As many sports bettors realize, Perez, who is having his best power year to date (23 homers), has struck out about as much as we would expect most power guys to do (110 times), but in 20 lifetime plate appearances against Giolito, he has struck out just once and not walked at all. In other words, he is going to put the ball in play somewhere.
And although he only has five base hits in those 20 trips to the plate, two of those have gone for home runs. And he’s not mired in a slump, as even though he went hitless last night, he had a six-game hitting streak going. So, why the hell not?
Nationals vs. Phillies Betting Report
BRYCE HARPER (Philadelphia Phillies) UNDER 0.5 RBIs (-220)
Opponent: WASHINGTON NATIONALS (starter- Patrick Corbin)
Time: 7:05 PM ET
Wow – you mean Bryce Harper AGAIN? Well, we won with him yesterday because he hit a home run. But now we’re going against him.
Why? Well, we’re going to follow a little math here, as it applies to Wednesday’s pitcher, Patrick Corbin. Harper’s numbers aren’t so bad against him, but if you look really closely, you’ll see that in 32 plate appearances, he’s had just ONE run batted in.
And you know, when we look at Harper overall, he’s not the kind of guy who gets a ton of RBI’s anyway, relative to his power capacity. The reason for that is that pitchers would rather just walk him than allow him to do any damage. In fact, Harper has led the league twice in this category.
But the funny thing is, Corbin has only walked Harper four times in those 32 PA’s. That’s just 12.5% of the time. And that is certainly below Harper’s walk percentage of 16.6% over these last four seasons (including this one).
What Corbin has done with some regularity is strike Harper out – in fact,13 times. That’s almost 41% of the time. And that is well above Harper 21.7% career rate.
So let’s come to the conclusion that Corbin has a pretty good idea about how to pitch to the guy.
Rockies vs. Angels Betting Report
CHARLIE BLACKMON (Colorado Rockies) OVER 1.5 TOTAL BASES (+145)
Opponent: LOS ANGELES ANGELS (starter – Andrew Heaney)
Time: 9:35 PM ET
Well, we must admit that there isn’t a heck of a lot of history to go on here. But we can tell you that Charlie Blackmon has nine official at bats against Andrew Heaney, and he has five hits (that includes a double).
Heaney has made three starts in his career against Colorado, and in two of those three starts he’s gone at least seven innings. So Blackmon may get a few whacks at him.
We do freely admit that Blackmon is not playing at the level of his 2017 season, when he led the league in hitting , had 104 RBI’s and 14 triples and finished fifth in the National League’s MVP voting, but he’s hitting .361 in his last 13 games, and in seven of those games he’s had more than one hit.
And even though we would also admit that he has exhibited less power on the road and against lefties, he has a higher batting average in those circumstances than he does at home and against righties, respectively.
