Austin FC suffered its first loss of the season last week dropping a 1-0 decision to Portland. That leaves LAFC and Real Salt Lake as the only unbeaten teams in MLS’s Western Conference.
It’s a similar story in the Eastern Conference where preseason MLS Cup favorite Columbus and Philadelphia remain unbeaten. Can their streaks continue?
Here’s a look at the MLS Week 4 predictions and odds.
Charlotte FC vs. New England
Pick: DRAW +245
It’s been a rude awakening for Charlotte FC in its first season as a member of MLS. Charlotte has lost all three of its games thus far this season. The expansion team has kept its last two games close with a pair of one-goal losses to Atlanta and the LA Galaxy.
New England is 1-1-1 with a draw, a win, and a loss last week to Real Salt Lake. New England has kept each game close winning 1-0 over Dallas before losing 3-2 last week.
Charlotte has just one goal so far this season. This is a game that has draw written all over it. Two low- scoring teams and one battling for something positive.
Chicago vs. Sporting KC
Pick: CHICAGO +115
After a pair of 0-0 draws to start the season, the Chicago Fire finally got on the board and beat DC United 2-0 for the team’s first win of the season.
Sporting KC has a 1-0 win sandwiched between losses to Atlanta (3-1) and Colorado (2-0). Going up against a Fire defense that has three straight clean sheets to start the season will present its challenges. Playing at home, Chicago gets its second win of the season.

FC Cincinnati vs. Inter Miami CF
Pick: INTER MIAMI CF +225
FC Cincinnati did something it hasn’t done in quite a while last week – win. Cincinnati beat Orlando 2-1 for its first MLS win in some time.
Cincinnati had given up seven goals in its first two matches but found a way to win last week. Don’t expect that to continue this week.
Inter Miami CF doesn’t have a win yet this season, but the visitors have owned Cincinnati. The teams have played four head-to-head matches. Miami has won all four. The last time the teams played was in October of last season. Miami won 5-1.
New York City FC vs. Philadelphia
Pick: DRAW +275
Philadelphia is off to a great start this season with two consecutive wins in its last two matches after starting the season with 1-1 draw with Minnesota United FC.
New York City FC is, of course, the defending MLS Cup champion and they have started 1-1-1. The defending champs beat Montreal 4-1 last week scoring for the first time this season.
NYCFC has just one loss among its last ten matches and they have had great success against Philadelphia. In the last ten matches between the two clubs, NYCFC owns a 6-1-3 record.
The Union also has just one defeat among their last ten matches. Their strong defense will keep them in this match. When the two teams last played at New York last November, the teams played to a 1-1 draw.
