Jake Paul beat Mike Perry by technical knockout in the sixth round on July 20, 2024, in Tampa, Florida. Paul put Perry down three times before the referee stopped the eight-round cruiserweight fight at 1:12 of Round 6, according to ESPN.
This page backed Paul at -400 before the fight, so the bet won. It also leaned toward a Paul decision, and that part was wrong: the fight never reached the cards.
How the fight went
Paul scored a flash knockdown with a right hand in the first round. A jab set up the right that dropped Perry 30 seconds into Round 2, ESPN reported. Perry had his best round in the third and opened a cut over Paul’s left eye, but Paul took over again from the fourth and finished it in the sixth.
| CompuBox | Paul | Perry |
|---|---|---|
| Total punches landed | 96 of 226 (43%) | 33 of 122 (27%) |
| Jabs landed | 52 of 142 (37%) | 11 of 49 (22%) |
| Power punches landed | 44 of 84 (52%) | 22 of 73 (30%) |
Paul closed as a -475 favorite at ESPN BET. The win took his pro record to 10-1 with seven knockouts. Perry, who was 5-0 in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, fell to 0-2 in pro boxing; his only earlier boxing match was a fourth-round knockout loss to Kenneth McNeil in May 2015.
Why Perry got the fight
The July 20 date belonged to Paul’s fight with Mike Tyson, which was set for Netflix. Tyson withdrew after an ulcer flare-up on a flight in May, and Paul kept the date with Perry. Paul was 27 and Perry 32, and Paul had a three-inch height advantage.

Serrano’s win set up her November 15 rematch with Katie Taylor, on the same night as Paul and Tyson.
