2025 US Open Tennis Women’s Odds and Predictions

Last Updated on

The 2025 US Open is almost here. We get to witness Jannik Sinner try to defend his title from the men’s side, while Aryan Sabalenka is favored to do the same for the women.

As always, though, tennis bettors are going to wonder if backing the top favorite is the way to go. I’d say that’s the case if you’re looking at the US Open men’s odds, but for the women, I think the door is wide open for an upset.

That doesn’t mean Sabalanka isn’t a worthy favorite. She did win this thing in 2024 and she is undeniably one of the best female tennis players on the circuit. However, the women’s US Open hasn’t had a repeat winner since Serena Williams was still dominating the game.

Can Sabalenka be the first woman to win back-to-back US Open titles since 2014? Read on for my analysis of the latest odds, some compelling values, and my top tennis picks for the season’s final grand slam.

US Open Women’s Draw

The US Open draw takes place on Sunday, August 24th. Beforehand, we will see all of the top tennis players compete in qualifying rounds to decide their fate in the US Open women’s bracket.

The draw process is a lengthy one, but it helps ensure a fair and balanced US open event. The 2025 US Open women’s draw won’t actually be official until August 21st, but you can keep an eye on how the qualifiers go to decide if the seeding is truly accurate before placing your bets.

Where to Watch The US Open Women’s Tournament?

The 2025 US Open will go down at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York. You can attend in person, or tune into the Tennis Channel, ABC, and/or ESPN to check out the latest US Open television coverage.

US Open Women’s Final 2024

As noted, Aryna Sabalenka is your reigning women’s US Open champion, as she downed Jessica Pegula in straight sets (7-5, 7-5). It was quite the battle, as Sabalenka had 40 winners but also committed a litany of unforced errors.

Sabalenka dominated in the way of net play, while both players converted break points at effective rates. The back and forth battle gave way to Sabalenka’s first ever US Open title and just her third major win of her career.

The unforced errors and tight competition should have bettors unsure of a firm backing for Sabalenka. She earned a hard-fought title, but was it convincing enough to make her the locked in betting favorite for 2025? Only time will tell.

US Open OddsUS Open Odds
Aryna Sabalenka (+275)Iga Swiatek (+360)
Coco Gauff (+650)Mirra Andreeva (+1100)
Elena Rybakina (+1400)Naomi Osaka (+1400)
Madison Keys (+1800)Amanda Anisimova (+2000)
Victoria Mboko (+2200)Jessica Pegula (+3600)

The pricing is fair across the board. Sabalenka is the defending champ, so she should be favored, but her price isn’t so egregious to keep interest curbed.

She certainly has her challengers in terms of odds, as two other ladies – Swiatek and Gauff – are priced well enough (and are simply dangerous enough) to feasibly stage the upset.

There are instantly some big-name value bets to consider such as Rybakina and Andreeva, while the likes of Osaka and Pegula offer even more compelling pricing. They may all simply be traps and it’s Sabalenka’s tourney to lose, but the point of this process is to make sure we turn over every stone.

You should do the same. I have my predicted women’s US Open winner ready to rock, but I’m just one voice. Make sure you get all the information you need via the best handicappers online before finalizing your 2025 women’s US Open bets.

US Open Women’s Favorites

The following ATP players are considered the odds-on favorites to win the 2025 women’s US Open:

Aryna Sabalenka (+275)

The easy call to win the 2025 US Open women’s tournament is Sabalenka, seeing as she’s the most recent woman to do it. It wasn’t exactly easy, but after taking care of business last year against Jessica Pegula, she cemented herself as a top contender to do so again.

Sabalenka hasn’t done much to talk us out of betting on her, either. The 27-year old has worked her way to #1 player in the world status, using a stellar 2024 campaign combined with more strong work in 2025.

Part of that stems from her recent semifinals run at Wimbledon, but Sabalenka has been crushing all year, reaching two major finals and winning two tournaments. In her physical prime and at the top of her game, there’s little reason to suggest she can’t be the first female repeat winner at the US Open since 2014.

Iga Swiatek (+360)

If you want a good reason to bet against Sabalenka, look no further than Isa Swiatek, who is a former #1 ranked tennis player that currently settles in as #3 behind Aryna.

Swiatek has been a dominant player over the past few years, racking up six grand slam wins dating back to 2000, while she’s now won a title in three of four majors. The Australian Open has eluded her, and yet this year she tied her best finish (semifinals).

She parlayed that success into her first Wimbledon title – a match where she became the first person since 1911 to win a title with no losses in any of her games.

It’s been an up and down battle with Swiatek falling from grace, so to speak, but Wimbledon was a strong sign of permanent return to form. She’s not a lock to challenge Sabalenka, but at +360, she is firmly back on the map as a legit contender.

Coco Gauff (+650)

One more US Open contender is Coco Gauff, who is a rising star at just 21 years of age. The American star claimed her first French Open title this season, giving her two grand slam wins in her young career. Naturally, that gives her (and bettors) the confidence needed to think she can go the distance at the US Open.

It’s not something Gauff hasn’t done yet, either. Of her two grand slams, the US Open (2023) is one she knows well and has won in. And her 2025 season as a whole hasn’t done anything to deter bettors, either. Gauff helped the US win the United Cup this year, she reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open, she reached the Madrid Open final, and she also made the Italian Open final.

Battle tested and in prime position to start racking up titles, Gauff is a very compelling contender. The form, talent, and odds all combine to make her a very interesting bet.

Best US Open Women’s Betting Value

If you just want pure betting value, I don’t think anybody is more appealing than Naomi Osaka. The 27-year old has had her lows in her career for sure, but she is still in her physical prime and has enough talent to win any major.

Osaka has literally won a title at the US Open two times now (2018, 2020), and she has regained elite form following a big win at Wimbledon this season. It’s been one heck of a ride for her all year, to be honest, as she also secured a title at the WTA 125 Open de Saint-Malo and was runner-up at this year’s Canadian Open.

In addition, Osaka may have been well on her way to winning the Australian Open, but she was forced out of the third round with an abdominal injury.

Osaka is far from a lock. However, she’s still got the goods to give anyone hell, she’s been looking solid in 2025, and she’s coming off a huge grand slam win. Who is to say she can’t get a second one before the year draws to a close?

Top US Open Women’s Longshot

The best longshot ahead of the 2025 women’s US Open is without a doubt Jessica Pegula. She’s not the big name some of these other ladies are, but she has really alluring odds for someone who literally played in the title match one year ago.

To be frank, Pegula played well enough to win in the final in 2024. She could have done better to take advantage of some of Sabalenka’s mistakes, but she was in both sets and if she’d won one of them, who knows how things would have shaken out.

Beyond that, she has a solid track record, having reached at least the quarter-finals in all four grand slams. Last year’s run to the US Open final was her best effort yet, so it’s fair to wonder if the 31-year old simply plateaued.

I’m not sure you’d say that based on her success in 2025, of course, as she found a way to secure her first ever clay-court title at the Charleston Open, while also making it to the final of the Adelaide International. She also won the ATX Open and the Bad Homburg Open, solidifying her as a tough out.

Given her strong 2025 resume, her run in 2024, and her US Open odds, she’s a fun flier bet.

US Open Women’s Final

We do not know what the US Open women’s bracket is going to look like yet, but based off of the latest women’s US Open betting odds, it’s reasonable to guess Sabalenka and Swiatek will be on opposite ends.

The top two seeds don’t always make it to the end – nor are they guaranteed to hold the top two spots as I write this – but they both have the talent and experience to make a deep run.

I do think there’s room for some really nice value here, but a final featuring Sabalenka and Swiatek would make for must-see TV, would return solid betting value, and feels logical.

Women’s US Open Predictions

I don’t mind betting on Sabalenka due to talent, form, and price. She is a great value for someone who is a proven grand slam threat, and especially someone who just won her in 2024.

That said, we just do not get dominant performers in women’s tennis like we did when Serena Williams was running the show. There is more talent to work with, to be sure, but there simply isn’t one player who is head and shoulders above the field.

At the women’s US Open in particular, we’ve had a new winner every season over the past decade. I don’t expect that trend to end now, which has me digging the value beyond the favorite.

Gauff is certainly viable, while I could be talked into any number of sleepers. However, nobody has a better combination of talent, championship pedigree, and value than Swiatek. She has been through hell and back, but the ability to pull out a win at Wimbledon is the final reminder that all systems are a go.

Winning two straight grand slams won’t be easy, but Swiatek is a former #1 player who is roaring to get back to the top. A big win here might do the trick and we get her at a slightly better price than Sabalenka – someone she’s had the edge over (8-5) in 13 matches

Bet: Iga Swiatek +360
