Last week a few surprises were starting with Alabama and LSU. The Tigers took the Crimson Tide to the buzzer as Alabama held on to the win 20-14. The touted matchup between Auburn and Texas A&M turned into a dud as the Tigers only managed 3 points against the Aggies. Texas A&M won in less than dramatic fashion 20-3 holding Auburn’s Bo Nix in check.
It’s not that Auburn should have won, or that LSU should have won. The surprise was that both A&M and Auburn didn’t score more points. And, that Alabama could not put more points on the board over LSU.
Now the SEC schedule is winding down with only a few more regular-season games left before the SEC Championship and Bowl season. This week the No. 1 Georgia will be tested by the high-octane scoring offense of unranked Tennessee. And, No. 11 Texas A&M hits the road against No. 12 Ole Miss. Will the lack of loud Aggie fans hurt A&M on the road?

Texas A&M vs. Ole Miss Preview
When: Saturday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN
Odds: Texas A&M -2.5 (110) vs Ole Miss +2.5 (110)
If there’s one thing that both Texas A&M and Ole Miss fans know it is that either one of them can score points at any time. The other thing is that both teams can play exceptional defense – sometimes. Ole Miss has improved dramatically on the defensive side of the ball and so has Texas A&M. Ole Miss has jumped to the No. 1 ranked defense in the SEC with Texas A&M in the 4 th spot. The Aggies enter with 28 sacks on the season while Ole Miss comes in with 34. The big number for Ole Miss is that they have recovered 10 fumbles on the year against 3 for the Aggies.
Best Bet: Ole Miss +2.5 (110)
Mississippi State vs. Auburn Preview
When: Saturday, November 13 at 12:00 p.m. on ESPN
Odds: Mississippi State +5.5 (110) vs Auburn -5.5 (110)
Mississippi State heads to Auburn to take on the Tigers this weekend. Mississippi State has dropped out of the AP top-25 this week but is at No. 17 in the College Football Playoff (CFP) standings. Auburn has dropped to No. 20 in the AP but sits at No. 13 in the CFP. Auburn hit a roadblock against Texas A&M last week as the Aggies held the Tigers to only a field goal. Mississippi hopes to do the same. The problem is that the Bulldogs don’t have the same defensive numbers that A&M does. There is one good stat on their side, they have intercepted the ball 10 times this season. The Bulldogs will need a great day on defense to take down the Tigers on the road.
Best Bet: Auburn -5.5 (110)

Odds: New Mexico State +51.5 (110) vs Alabama -51.5 (110)
Alabama will have to make a “statement” game happen this weekend against New Mexico State. After the Tide’s dismal showing against LSU, one would expect that Nick Saban’s team will be coached up for a big win heading into kickoff. The Aggies of New Mexico State come into the game 1-6 on the year with their lone win being against South Carolina State.
Best Bet: New Mexico State +51.5 (110)
When: Saturday, November 13 at 12:00 p.m. on SEC Network/ESPN+
Odds: No odds available for this game
Florida hosts Samford this weekend in a game that should be an easy win for the Gators. Samford is 3-5 overall while going 2-4 in Southern Conference play with a win over the Citadel 35-14 last weekend. Florida has had an up and down season and a 4-5 record they did not expect. Florida needs to end the season with a string of wins to make it to Bowl eligibility. They have Samford, Missouri, and FSU next.
Best Bet: Florida wins outright over Samford.
When: Saturday, November 13 at 3:30 p.m. on CBS
Odds: Georgia +20.5 (110) vs Tennessee -20.5 (110)
Tennessee has made several defenses look silly this season with surprise efforts against teams like Alabama and their high-scoring win over Kentucky last week. Georgia may let a few Tennessee big plays slip by but their defense is one of the best in the SEC. But, Tennesee has some surprising defensive stats of their own. Georgia has 10 interceptions to the Vols 9. Surprisingly, Tennessee gets close on sacks as well. The Vols have 9 on the season compared to 10 for Georgia. The Dawgs should win but Tennessee has gotten stronger since the season began.
Best Bet: Tennessee +20 (110)
South Carolina vs. Missouri Preview
When: Saturday, November 13 at 4:00 p.m. on SEC Network
Odds: South Carolina +1 (110) vs Missouri -1 (110)
South Carolina and Missouri come into the weekend with what will possibly be one of the more exciting games on the SEC schedule. The gamecocks have improved their running game over the last several weeks and Missouri has looked better on offense as well. Both teams are hurting when it comes to defense. A field goal or turnover could push either team closer towards being bowl eligible by the end of the season.
Best Bet: South Carolina +1 (110)
Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt Preview
When: Saturday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN2
Odds: Kentucky -21 (110) vs Vanderbilt +21 (110)
Vanderbilt comes in 2-7 overall and 0-5 in SEC play. Kentucky has lost some of the luster of their season with a 6-3 overall record while being 4-3 in SEC play. Their loss to Tennessee last week was an emotional roller coaster as the Wildcats lead in just about every stat except the final score. Kentucky could come out flat, but they’ll probably look for someone to take the frustration out on at that is going to be the Commodores.
Best Bet: Vanderbilt +21.5 (110)
When: Saturday, November 13 at 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network
Odds: Arkansas -2.5 (110) vs LSU +2.5 (110)
Arkansas is 2-3 in the SEC while LSU comes into the game at 2-4 in conference play. The Razorbacks have had a decent season overall with a 6-3 record while LSU has dropped to 4-5 overall after last week’s loss to Alabama. LSU defeated Arkansas 27-24 the last time they met. Both of these teams come in equally matched but LSU may have the emotional advantage this Saturday as home jgames for outgoing coach Ed Orgeron.
Best Bet: LSU +2.5 (110)
