Last week the SEC was packed with exciting games that featured ranked teams battling for conference pride and national rankings. This week there are only a handful of SEC games as many teams take a week off to heal up.
One of the biggest games of the week, when it comes to the SEC, is the match-up between Alabama and Tennessee. The Vols are coming off a hard-fought battle, and loss, against Ole Miss complete with fans embarrassing the University and the league. The Crimson Tide is fresh off a road win against Mississippi State.
The question for many is if Alabama can dominate Tennessee to move back up the standings after their drop following their loss to Texas A&M two weeks ago. The Tide sits No. 4 in the nation and they would love to move closer to Georgia who is the current No. 1 team in the country. The Bulldogs are off this week following their win over Kentucky last week who is also off.

LSU vs. Ole Miss Week 8 Preview
When: Saturday, October 23 at 3:30 p.m. on CBS
Odds: LSU +9 (110) vs Ole Miss -9 (110)
The LSU game vs Ole Miss game will probably be the most intriguing game on the SEC schedule this week for a few reasons. First, Ole Miss is now No.12 in the country after beating Tennessee last week in Knoxville. Ole Miss has improved on defense while their offense still plows along scoring touchdowns and going for it on first down constantly. LSU looked much better last week against Florida as they stunned the Gators 49-42. Then there are some other reasons, Ole Miss is coming off a weird game where Vol fans pelted the field with items. They hate Lane Kiffin. And LSU has announced they are parting ways with head coach Orgeron. It will be interesting to see how both teams move past a weird week.
Best Bet: Ole Miss -9 (110)
Tennessee vs. Alabama Week 8 Preview
When: Saturday, October 23 at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN
Odds: Tennessee +25.5 (110) vs Alabama -25.5 (110)
Alabama is working back towards the front of the top-25 and is now sitting at No. 4 in the country. They had one stumble against Texas A&M a few weeks ago. Now Saban seems to have knocked the dust from that game away and the Tide is rolling again. On the other hand, Tennessee is coming off a week where the team played well even though they lost to Ole Miss. It was the distraction of Tennessee fans walking down Stupid Street by tossing items on the field and even hitting Lane Kiffin with a golf ball. Tennessee needs to come out strong and show that the distraction has not bothered them. Alabama will win, but the Vols have to make a showing.
Best Bet: Tennessee +25.5 (110)

Mississippi State vs. Vanderbilt Week 8 Preview
When: Saturday, October 23 at 4:00 p.m. on SEC Network
Odds: Mississippi State -20 (110) vs Vanderbilt +20 (110)
Mississippi State heads to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt and both teams could use a win. Vanderbilt enters the game following a gut-wrenching 21-20 loss to South Carolina in the closing seconds of the game. Last week Mississippi State took a hit from Alabama losing 49-9. The upside of this game is that both teams are capable of putting up points depending on the opponent. Vandy has improved over the weeks on offense. The problem is that the defense and the offense have not been doing well at the same time. Mississippi State enters with more depth and are better on both sides of the ball.
Best Bet: Vanderbilt +20 (110)
South Carolina vs. Texas A&M Week 8 Preview
When: Saturday, October 23 at 4:00 p.m. on SEC Network
Odds: South Carolina +20.5 (110) vs Texas A&M -20.5 (110)
South Carolina would love to make a showing this week at Texas A&M. The Gamecocks are coming off a win against Vandy that included a last-minute game-winning drive by a QB off the bench. They want to prove that win was not a fluke against a Vandy team that’s been at the bottom of the win column all season. Texas A&M enters the game now ranked No. 17 in the country with an offense that’s moving the ball. Last week South Carolina racked up 21 points in the 1 st quarter heading to a 35-14 win over Missouri.
Best Bet: South Carolina +20.5 (110)

Arkansas is coming into this game against AR-Pine Bluff after a disappointing string of losses. A bye week hopefully will have helped the Razorbacks clear their minds. There are no official odds this week for this game.
Best Bet: Arkansas to win outright.
