New Mexico Bowl Predictions

Teams: Hawaii Rainbow Warriors vs. Houston Cougars

The Houston Cougars are not what many had hoped. This team is supposed to do great things every year and nothing seems to work in their favor. They lost a close one in Memphis, 30-27, the week before, they blew out USF 56-21, but were drilled by better competition at number 6, Cincinnati.

We see no consistency on any level with this team, but we do see the ability to score and stay afloat with level competition. They are scoring 32.3 points per game but giving up 32.6 (hence the losing record). The Cougars put up 423.4 total yards per game but give up 417.3. This team shows an utter lack of discipline on defense and they will get torched on both sides of the ball. Turner can throw, and Corbin can catch! These two will move the chains all day and set up the running game for a high scoring affair.

Hawaii is scoring 26.0 points per game and allowing 29.3. They have beaten bad teams such as UNLV but hung around with good teams such as Boise State and Nevada, in fact, they beat Nevada, 24-21. Nevada is a ‘slow it down’ team that will make you play at their pace. Houston is not! Look for tons of scoring opportunities from Hawaii and expect them to capitalize on a weak “D Line” from the Cougars.

Camellia Bowl Predictions

Teams: Marshall Thundering Herd vs. Buffalo Bulls

When: Friday, December 25th 2020 at 2:30PM ET

Where: Cramton Bowl (Montgomery, Alabama)

Pick – Buffalo -4.5

It’s difficult to get around a loss to Rice, on top of the loss, to be shut out 20-0! This is what happened to Marshall on December 5 th . To boot, last week was another embarrassing performance against UAB (L 13-22). Marshall had big hopes, but they have only seen success against non-relevant programs such as MTSU, MASS, FAU, and others.

We cannot find a way to take the points and Buffalo is a scoring machine with 199.5 passing yards per game and 309.2 rushing yards per game. Buffalo may not put up 70 as they did against Kent, but they will come to play, and Marshall will not hang around long. Lay the points.
