Dave’s NFL Divisional Round Odds and Picks

I came up on the losing end at 2-4 with my top picks for last weekend’s Wild Card Round of this season’s NFL playoffs. However, I did cash-in big on my upset pick of Cleveland over Pittsburgh straight-up.

This weekend’s Divisional Round heats things up by setting the stage for each conference championship game on the road to Super Bowl LV. Scores and Stats sent me back to drawing board to come up with four top plays for this Saturday and Sunday’s matchups.

Los Angeles Rams at Green Bay Packers Preview

Full Preview: Rams vs. Packers Prediction

Best Bet: Green Bay -6½

Give credit to the Rams’ defense for last Saturday’s upset on the road over Seattle. I had the UNDER 42 in that game and both teams combined for 50 points. Given how Los Angeles got nicked up in the process, duplicating that performance in Green Bay is going to be a much taller task.

I see the Packers as a team on a mission. This mission is fueled by Aaron Rodgers’ motivation to win one more Super Bowl title during his Hall of Fame career. He knows that it could be now or never behind the best team he has had in years. Only giving up 6½ points seams too good to be true but I am taking the bait.

Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills Preview

Full Preview: Ravens vs. Bills Prediction

Best Bet: UNDER 50

The Ravens knocked off Tennessee on the road last Sunday as 3 ½-point favorites. They are now two-point underdogs in this round. The common ground between the two games is just how hot Baltimore is right now. The straight-up winning streak stands at six games and it has covered against the spread in its last seven contests.

Buffalo was not at its best last Saturday at home against Indianapolis and still found a way to win. The Bills have now won 10 of their last 11 games SU. They failed to cover as seven-point favorites for the first time in their previous nine outings. Something has to give in this matchup but I have the total staying UNDER 50 points.

Cleveland Browns at Kansas City Chiefs Preview

Full Preview: Browns vs. Chiefs Prediction

Best Bet: Kansas City -10

Give the Browns all the credit in the world for last Sunday’s road upset over Pittsburgh in a wild one. Unfortunately, reality is about to settle in when it comes to the difference between beating the Steelers and beating the defending Super Bowl Champions.

The Chiefs could stumble on Sunday looking ahead to the AFC title game but I would not bet on it. They could do just enough to get the win and fail to cover but I am betting against that result. Another Super Bowl run requires a convincing win to start the engines and that is what I fully expect in this Sunday’s game.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints Preview

Full Preview: Buccaneers vs. Saints Prediction

Best Bet: OVER 52

Tom Brady has something to prove in this season’s playoff run while his old team is not even playing football anymore. Getting past Washington was a minor step in the process. Brady and the Bucs are stepping way up in class this time around.

The Saints have already beaten Tampa Bay twice this season which actually adds a level of difficulty to getting a third-straight win. The one thing that stands out is the combined 72 points Drew Brees and Co. scored in those first two meetings. Both teams should cross the 30-point mark in New Orleans this Sunday.
