MLB Strikeouts Props Picks for Thursday, May 26th 2022

Pitching wins games in MLB and it’s why teams like the Yankees, Dodgers, and Brewers are among the league’s best so far this season.

MLB Sportsbooks

There may not be many big name pitchers in action today, but there are plenty where there is value on their strikeouts props. Here are the top MLB strikeouts props picks for Thursday, May 26th 2022.

German Marquez – OVER 4.5 Ks (+110)

Rockies vs. Nationals Predictions

Being the best pitcher for the Colorado Rockies isn’t easy. Marquez has to pitch in one of the most hitter friendly ballparks in the majors.

Today, Marquez gets to pitch at Washington and, despite his 6.14 ERA, Marquez has cashed the Over on this prop in four straight starts. Marquez’s pitch counts have steadily gone up each game meaning he is facing more batters. More batters mean more potential strikeouts.

Marquez has struck out five or more batters in 29 of his last 40 starts. One of those was against the same Washington team he’ll face today. On May 3, Marquez struck out five Nats on 77 pitches.

MLB Moneyline Odds

Hyun Jin Ryu – OVER 3.5 Ks (-135)

Blue Jays vs. Angels Predictions

Yes, Hyun Jin Ryu is having a difficult season. His ERA is 6.00 through four starts. In his first two games, Ryu gave up 11 earned runs. In his last two starts, he’s allowed just one.

This prop isn’t about runs though. It’s hard to remember a time when Ryu’s strikeout prop was just 3.5. Sure, he’s not as productive as he had been in six years in Los Angeles, but Ryu might be facing the perfect opponent.

The Angels can hit. There’s no question about that. The thing is the Angels are among the top-10 teams in strikeouts against left-handed pitchers this season. Ryu can get four Ks tonight.

Frankie Montas – OVER 5.5 Ks (-150)

Rangers vs. Athletics Predictions

Montas was struck in the hand in last Saturday’s start against the Angels. He pitched only 1.2 innings before leaving the game. He’s back for his scheduled start today.

Montas had pitched at least five innings in every start up until last Saturday. In his previous three starts, his pitch counts were all over 100.

Taking out the last start, Montas has gone Over this prop in six of eight starts. In his most recent start (prior to last Saturday) Montas went six innings against the Angels and struck out 12 batters.

Tonight, he faces an Oakland lineup that ranks dead last in the majors in batting average (.212). The A’s average 8.74 strikeouts per game. Over their last three games, Oakland batters have struck out an average of 10 times per game.

MLB Moneyline Picks

Humberto Castellanos – OVER 3.5 Ks (+110)

Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks Predictions

After an ugly April, Castellanos has improved in May. He’s pitched more than five innings in every start this month. He’s also gone Over this strikeout prop in every start this month.

In his last start, Castellanos pitched 5.1 innings in a 10-6 win over the Cubs. He allowed five hits, three earned runs, and struck out five to pick up his third win of the season.

Castellanos will face Arizona tonight. The D-Backs are one of the weakest hitting lineups in baseball. They rank 29 th in batting average and 29th in strikeouts per game. Arizona batters whiff an average of 9.33 times per game.
