MLS 2022 action continues to heat up as LAFC lost its first match to its rival the LA Galaxy last weekend. With the win, the Galaxy moved themselves into second place in the Western Conference right behind their rival.
LAFC sits atop the conference with a 4-1-1 record and 13 points. The Galaxy are tied with Real Salt Lake for second place. Both teams have 12 points.
Philadelphia remains the only unbeaten (5-1-0) in MLS and leads the Eastern Conference with 16 points. Orlando City SC is a surprising second with a 3-2-2 record and 11 points.
Reigning MLS Cup champion New York City FC is just 1-1-3 so far and sits 12th in the East. A number of great matches are on the schedule for this Saturday. Here are the top MLS predictions for Saturday, April 16th 2022.
Toronto FC vs. Philadelphia
Pick: PHILADELPHIA +150
The Philadelphia Union are the only remaining unbeaten team in the MLS. The big reason why is defense as Philadelphia has four straight clean sheets. The Union has only allowed two goals in their six matches so far this season.
Philadelphia will face a Toronto team that has not suffered a defeat since March 12 when they lost 2-1 to Columbus. Toronto is 2-0-1 at home this season and they are 4-1-1 ATS. All three of their home matches have gone Over.
DC United vs. Austin FC
Pick: AUSTIN +260

DC United has lost three straight matches and got shut out in two of them. They will host Austin FC (3-2- 1) on Saturday.
Austin FC hasn’t lost since March 12 and that was a one-goal game (1-0) with Portland. That game, like this one, was on the road.
Still, you have to like the firepower of Austin. The club is tied with LAFC for the most goals scored (14) this season. They put up five goals apiece in each of their first two matches of the season. They have cooled off since then, but this is a great opportunity for an upset over a team that has scored just once in its last three matches.
Columbus vs. Orlando City SC
Pick: OVER 2.5
Columbus enters Saturday’s match with Orlando City SC on the heels of back-to-back 1-0 losses to Philadelphia and Nashville. The Crew has the ability to score as they proved in their first three matches of the season. They totaled nine goals.
Orlando is a surprising second in the East. Like Columbus, they have trended Under in match totals. Three of Orlando’s last four matches went Under the total. All three of Columbus’ last three matches went Under.
In head-to-head history though, the last three Columbus-Orlando City matches have gone Over with scores of 3-2, 3-2, and 2-1.
The Crew has yet to lose at home and they have averaged two goals per home game so far this season. Look for this match to go Over 2.5.
