The NBA season creeps closer to its end and the beginning of the playoffs. The first four teams in each conference have already clinched a playoff berth.
The play-in tournament is all set in the Eastern Conference while five teams are fighting for the four spots in the Western Conference play-in.
The league had the night off on Monday as the NCAA decided its champion. The final NBA stretch continues tonight with a full slate of games. Here are the top Over/Under picks for Tuesday, April 5th 2022.
Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Orlando Magic
Cavaliers vs. Magic Prediction
Pick: UNDER 217.5 Points
The Cavs and Magic have played twice already this season. Both games have gone Under. Neither team is all that great offensively. Cleveland ranks 24th in points per game and Orlando is dead last in 30th.
The last ten games played between these two teams have averaged 198.3 points per game. The last three have averaged a little over 205.
Eleven of the last 13 games in this series have gone Under the total. That includes each of the last six games played in Orlando.
Houston Rockets vs. Brooklyn Nets
Pick OVER 244 Points
It’s a huge number, and rightfully so. These two teams can put up the points. Plus, Houston is the worst defensive team in the NBA right now.
Only Minnesota plays at a faster pace than Houston and Brooklyn ranks ninth in that category. The bigger issue is the defense. Houston has given up 121 or more points in each of its last four games – all losses, of course.
Both Houston and Brooklyn rank in the top ten in fast break points scored. Both teams also rank in the top ten of fast break points allowed.
The Over has hit in four of Houston’s last five games and the Rockets have a 43-35-1 O/U record for the season.
Milwaukee Bucks vs. Chicago Bulls
Pick: UNDER 232 Points
The Bucks-Bulls game tonight could be a preview of the NBA playoffs coming later this month. In two of the three games the two teams have played this season, Milwaukee held Chicago to under 100 points.
Both teams have outstanding offenses ranking in third and 11th in scoring. Still, their scoring averages only add up to just over 226 points.
Seven of the last ten head-to-head meetings have gone Under. That includes six of the last seven. The Under has hit in 14 of Chicago’s last 19 games and seven of the last eight games Milwaukee has played against a Central Division opponent.
Portland Trail Blazers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
Trail Blazers vs. Thunder Prediction
Pick: UNDER 223 Points
Both the Trail Blazers and the Thunder rank among the bottom five offenses in the NBA when it comes to scoring and efficiency.
Portland has lost seven games in a row and managed just 92 points in its last game, a loss to San Antonio. The Under has hit in five of the Blazers last seven games.
Each of the last five games in this series has gone Under.
