The top-seeded Miami Heat are up 2-0 against Atlanta and now travel to face the Hawks on the road.
Both Milwaukee and Phoenix lost Game 2 in their respective series and now go on the road. The Suns got some bad news too as leading scorer Devin Booker will miss both Game 3 and 4 in New Orleans. That could impact the Suns’ chances against a Pelicans team that played inspired in the second half of Game 2.
Where can bettors look for success tonight? Here are the best NBA playoff picks for Friday, April 22nd 2022.
Miami Heat vs. Atlanta Hawks
Heat vs. Hawks Prediction
Best Bet: HAWKS +105
The public is all over Miami here. Game 3 opened with Atlanta as a 1.5-point home favorite, but early action on the Heat has flipped the line.
Atlanta only has one win over Miami in six games this season. That win came at home back in January. The Hawks are 28-14 SU at home this season and their star Trae Young averages over 30 points a game at home.
The Hawks won’t have Clint Capela again which means they have to play small. That’s actually to their advantage as that will increase the tempo of the game. The Hawks are averaging just 98 points in two games in this series.
To win, they’ll need to average closer to their season average of 113.7. With their backs against the wall, Atlanta and Young pull off the upset in front of their home crowd.
Phoenix Suns vs. New Orleans Pelicans
Best Bet: SUNS -1.5
Booker had 31 points in the first half of Game 2 but left in the third quarter with hamstring tightness. The Pelicans took advantage to record a surprising 125-114 victory. Booker will miss tonight’s game.
Brandon Ingram had 37 points and 11 rebounds, C.J. McCollum added 23, and Jonas Valanciunas had 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Pelicans.
The series shifts to New Orleans and the Pelicans have some momentum heading into Game 3. However, there is a reason why Phoenix set a franchise record with 64 wins during the regular season.
The Suns were able to navigate playing without one or more of their starters and play well. They have tremendous depth and that will show tonight. Phoenix is 12-5 SU in its last 17 games and 5-2 ATS in its last seven against New Orleans. They are also 8-4 SU in games without Booker this season.
Milwaukee Bucks vs. Chicago Bulls
Best Bet: OVER 222.5
The Bucks have been sleepwalking on offense through two games of their series with the Bulls. They are averaging just 101.5 points per game. That is going to end.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging over 30 points and 17 rebounds a game in the series. With Khris Middleton out tonight, he’ll take on an even greater role and propel the Bucks closer to their 115.1 points per game average.
Over the last ten games of the regular season, the Bucks averaged over 120 a game. Look for that Milwaukee team to be on the floor tonight. The total has gone Over in six of Milwaukee’s last eight games. This one will make it seven of nine.
