Golden State has the opportunity to close out its first-round playoff series with a fourth straight win over Denver today. The Warriors would then get some well needed rest before their second- round series.
In each of the other three playoff games played today, the road team owns a 2-1 advantage in the series. A win today will send all three teams back home with a chance to close out their respective series and advance to the next round.
All four road teams are favored to win today. Is there betting value on any of them? Here’s a look at the top NBA playoff picks for Sunday, April 24th 2022.
Milwaukee Bucks vs. Chicago Bulls
Best Bet: BUCKS -4.5
After a surprise win in Game 2, it was the same old Bulls in Game 3. Chicago has had limited success against Milwaukee over the past several seasons. The Bulls now have just two wins against the Bucks in the last 20 games the two teams have played.
It was all Bucks in Game 3 as they jumped out to a 16-point first quarter lead. Milwaukee would win by 30, 111-81.
Milwaukee has just had Chicago’s number too often recently. They are also 12-1 ATS in their last 13 trips to the United Center.
Golden State Warriors vs. Denver Nuggets
Warriors vs. Nuggets Predictions
Best Bet: WARRIORS -4
The Warriors can close out the series with a win today. Denver’s inability to stop Golden State will show once again today.
The Warriors are averaging 122 points per game so far in the series. The only Nugget worth anything is Nikola Jokic who averages nearly 30 a game for the series.
He won’t be enough to keep up with Golden State. Get out the broom.
Miami Heat vs. Atlanta Hawks
Pick: HEAT -1.5
The Hawks got lucky in Game 3 as five players not named Trae Young scored in double figures. Miami has limited the Hawks to over 10 points less than their season scoring average.
The Heat has the third-best defense in the NBA and, other than Young, the Hawks simply do not have the firepower to crack the Miami defense. Miami is 41-21 SU as a favorite this season and 25-16-1 ATS on the road.
Phoenix Suns vs. New Orleans Pelicans
Best Bet: SUNS -2.5
The Suns did it again. Devin Booker was out in Game 3 – he’ll be out in this Game 4 too – and Phoenix didn’t miss a beat and won. Chris Paul took over and Deandre Ayton scored 28 points as the Suns won 114-111.
Once again, the public is putting too much on Booker’s injury and hammering the Pelicans +3. Booker has now missed 13 games this season. Phoenix is 9-4 SU in those games. They covered on Friday night as a 2.5-point favorite.
The Suns have a chance to go up 3-1 and send the series back to Phoenix where the Suns can win it in Game 5. Phoenix is 51-21 as a favorite this season and they have enough experience playing without key players to handle the Pelicans tonight.
