The action continues in the NBA playoffs with three games on the schedule tonight. Denver faces a must-win game at home against Golden State trailing in the series 0-2.
Minnesota looks to surprise Memphis and Dallas may once again have to navigate a game with the Jazz without star Luka Doncic.
Bettors have plenty of opportunity tonight. Here are the NBA playoffs picks for Thursday, April 21st 2022.
Memphis Grizzlies vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
Grizzlies vs. Timberwolves Picks
Best Bet: TIMBERWOLVES +1.5
There is value on the TWolves at home tonight. Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards, and D’Angelo Russell all did not play well in Game 2’s loss to Memphis. Expect all three to play better at home in Game 3.
Memphis has had great success against Minnesota winning nine of the last 12 games. They are also 15-5 ATS in the last 20 games against the TWolves.
Still, you have to like Minnesota at home. The home crowd hasn’t seen a playoff game in over ten years. The TWolves went 27-15 at the Target Center this year and they went 23-18-1 ATS there as well.
If Memphis continues to play Steven Adams, they likely will continue to have trouble with Minnesota. Adams is no match for Towns. In Game 2, Adams played just three minutes as the Grizzlies upped the tempo.
Minnesota is fine with an up-tempo game. They ranked first in the NBA in pace. They just didn’t shoot well enough to stay in Game 2. Expect them to shoot better tonight.
Dallas Mavericks vs. Utah Jazz
Best Bet: OVER 210.5
Game 1 of this series went Under as neither team managed 100 points. The big question tonight is still the health of Luka Doncic. He is listed as questionable, but Doncic is probably nowhere near 100 percent. The average time for recovering from a calf strain this season in the NBA was 16 days.
Even if Doncic plays, he won’t be at full strength. In the two games Dallas played at Utah this season, both went Over the total.
In games at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City where Utah was favored to win, the Jazz and their opponents combined for an average of 217 points per game. That’s enough of a cushion to get the Over here.
Golden State Warriors vs. Denver Nuggets
Best Bet: OVER 224
The Nuggets simply cannot stop Golden State. In each of the first two games of the series, Denver has allowed the Warriors to score at least 123 points.
Over their past ten games, the Nuggets are allowing an average of 120.8 points per game. It’s no surprise then that six of the last eight Denver games have gone Over the total. It’s the same for Golden State. The total has gone Over in four of the last five for the Warriors.
Both playoff games have resulted in the Over and four of the last five Denver-Golden State games have gone Over the total. The Warriors are averaging 125 points over their last three and Denver can’t stop them.
