Vikings vs. Saints Week 16 Picks
Spread: Saints -7 / Tease: Saints -1
The Saints have lost two straight for the first time since the 2017 season. They are 19-6 SU in games following consecutive losses since 2007. New Orleans needs a win to keep pace with Green Bay in the race for the NFC’s No. 1 seed in the postseason.
Last year, these two teams met in almost similar circumstances. It was the 2019 NFC Wild Card game where the Vikings traveled to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome as 7.5-point underdogs. The Vikings would win that game 26-20 in overtime.
New Orleans will be without WR Michael Thomas again as head coach Sean Payton will continue to rest the Saints star for the playoffs. Drew Brees is back at quarterback though it took him some time last week to shake off the cobwebs.
What stands out in this game is the play of Minnesota QB Kirk Cousins in games not played on a Sunday. With this matchup on Friday – Christmas Day – it will be the only NFL game on tap. Cousins doesn’t do well in games not played on a Sunday.
He is just 6-14 ATS in such games. He’s also just 3-7-1 in prime-time games played on the road. Enough said.

The best game of Week 16 will take place on the Frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field. Tennessee and its 31.1 points per game will take on Green Bay and its 31.0 points a game. Both teams run the ball effectively. The Titans Derrick Henry leads the NFL in rushing. Green Bay’s Aaron Jones is fourth.
The Titans are 4-1 ATS in their last five games. That includes covers in their last two games as 7.5- and 8.5-point favorites.
Normally, betting against Packers QB Aaron Rodgers doesn’t pay. Rodgers is 117-84-2 ATS in his career. He’s even better at home with a 57-33-3 ATS record at Lambeau. Rodgers also will have an extra day of prep since the Packers played on Saturday last week, but the tease to 9.5 will be enough for the Titans – who have averaged 39.2 points in their last four games – to cover the spread.

This week, the Football Team falls victim to the NFL quarterback you should always back when he’s a road underdog. Yes, Carolina’s Teddy Bridgewater is a guy bettors should back as a road dog.
The Panthers are 2.5-point underdogs at Washington on Sunday. For his career, Bridgewater is 19-2 ATS in this situation. Carolina is also 6-0 ATS in its last six road games. This is one to consider without the tease.
