NFL Week 3 Team Totals Picks

The NFL in week 2 was filled with wild upsets in games that swung back and forth. Instead of torturing yourself trying to think about which team will win or by how many points, sometimes it’s better to narrow your focus and play a few props.

That way, the outcome won’t matter. Here’s a look at some NFL team total numbers worth looking at.

Carolina Panthers Over 19.5 (-120)

Saints vs. Panthers Picks

The Baker Mayfield era isn’t going how anyone in Carolina hoped. Through two games, Mayfield has only completed 53.6 percent of his passes and thrown for 380 yards.

However, Mayfield may not be Carolina’s biggest problem. The Panthers’ defense has yet to generate a turnover and struggled to close out wins in the first two weeks of the season.

Despite their issues, the Panthers produced 24 and 19 points, respectively, during their 0-2 start to the year. Carolina will now get a crack at a New Orleans side that is laxer when it comes to taking care of the ball. Saints quarterback Jameis Winston threw three interceptions in a loss to Tampa Bay last week.

Carolina will find a way to generate its first turnover of the season and go over 20 points for the second time in three NFL games this season.

Chicago Bears Under 20.5 (-120)

Texans vs. Bears Picks

Bears first-year coach Matt Eberflus has to do some serious soul-searching after a poor start to the season. Chicago QB and former first-round pick Justin Fields has only attempted 28 passes in two games this season. That lack of punch in the passing game makes it difficult for the Bears to have a diverse offense.

While Chicago has its struggles, so do the Houston Texans. The Texans can’t run the ball at all and will struggle at times to make plays down the field. This will be an ugly game overall where both teams will struggle to crack 20 points.

Cincinnati Bengals Over 25.5 (-118)

Bengals vs. Jets Picks

The Bengals are starting to enter the danger zone. Cincinnati is the defending AFC champion and hasn’t looked right on offense.

Despite making a number of changes on their offensive line, Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow has been under fire the first few weeks. Burrow has been sacked 13 times and taken a pair of surprising losses to Pittsburgh and Dallas.

The Bengals aren’t lacking for a capable offensive attack. Cincinnati has a strong running back with Joe Mixon, but he has been limited to 3.0 yards per carry.

Wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has caught 25 passes for 184 yards. Playing the New York Jets could be a good remedy for the Bengals.

The Jets rank 26th in the league by allowing 27.0 points per game.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Under 20.5 (-106)

Packers vs. Buccaneers Picks

The Buccaneers aren’t quite the offensive machine they were the past few seasons. Tom Brady is still a solid quarterback at age 45, but isn’t quite the precision passer he used to be. In two NFL games this season, the Buccaneers have yet to score over 20 points.

While Leonard Fournette has given Tampa Bay a strong threat out of the backfield, the Buccaneers passing game is still looking for a way to close out drives.
