The NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs continue on Tuesday night, and there are four terrific games on the schedule. Amazingly, all four of the series set to resume Tuesday are knotted up two wins apiece for each team.
This will make the games that much more exciting as taking a 3-2 series lead gives teams a huge boost. Here are the best bets to make for each of the four games set to be played.
Boston Bruins vs. Carolina Hurricanes
Bruins vs. Hurricanes Predictions
Best Bet: Hurricanes ML (-130)
The Boston Bruins just won’t go away, and they are giving the Carolina Hurricanes a terrific battle in this series. Carolina was a heavy favorite coming into the series, but Boston won two straight games at home to even this series up.
The home team has won every game so far in this series and the Hurricanes were dominant in their first two games in Carolina. Boston doesn’t have the offense to keep up, but the Bruins have been able to frustrate Carolina with physical play.
This should be the most competitive game of the series, but the Hurricanes are too good at home. Carolina wins the game and the best bet is taking them at -130 on Tuesday night.
Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Toronto Maple Leafs
Lightning vs. Maple Leafs Predictions
Best Bet: Maple Leafs ML (-120)
The Tampa Bay Lightning picked up a 7-3 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 4 to even this series up. The Lightning and Maple Leafs have alternated wins up to this point, and that would mean it is the Maple Leafs turn on Tuesday.
Tampa Bay is the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion for a reason, but the Toronto Maple Leafs are good enough to win the title this season. Toronto has to find a way to be better defensively, but their offense continues to be a nightmare to stop.
There won’t be a blowout in this game as it will go down to the wire. Toronto will get a boost from the home crowd as they win at home with odds set at -120.
St. Louis Blues vs. Minnesota Wild
Best Bet: Over 6.5 Goals
The Minnesota Wild host the St. Louis Blues for Game 5 Tuesday night, and this series has featured a number of non-competitive games. St. Louis won 5-2 on Sunday to even this series up, but now they must find a way to stop the Wild in Minnesota.
It’s hard to predict which team will win in Game 5 because each of them have played well at times. The best bet to make on this game is looking at the total, and taking the over 6.5 is the only option.
There have been at least six goals scored in every game but the series opener, and this will be another high-scoring affair.
Los Angeles Kings vs. Edmonton Oilers
Best Bet: Oilers -1.5 (+115)
The Edmonton Oilers return home for Game 5 to take on a Los Angeles Kings team that just won’t go away. It looked as if Edmonton was going to control this series after Game 3, but then the Kings went out and won Game 4.
Edmonton won Games 2 and 3 by a combined score of 14-2, and that’s the kind of dominance you should expect in this game as well. The Oilers are a nightmare to defend when they are playing well, and it should be a big offensive night on Tuesday.
Take the Oilers -1.5 as they take Game 5 from the Kings by at least two goals.
